“Exceptional hotel in an exceptional location”

Probably the best hotel around. Location in the middle of rice fields is unique. All hotel services are first class and the villas very luxurious. One of the best hotel we have been too. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for three days in July this year as part of our honeymoon. It is a very special place, with service and attention to detail second to none. Every member of staff greeted us with a warm and genuine smile and could not have done enough for us. Our butler Putra went beyond the call of duty, literally taking care of our every whim with a smile. The service aside, the hotel is set among the beautiful paddy fields of Ubud and lush and expansive manicured gardens are simply stunning.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink and banana fritters, and told that they had upgraded our villa free of charge. It only got better from there! The villa was huge with it;s own massage room, relaxing veranda and large outdoor bathroom, and huge living area supplied with everything we could have thought of including a free limitless mini bar.
On top of this, the complimentary petal bath, and free pre dinner cocktails served to the room were just a couple of the special touches that separates this hotel from other 5 star hotels we have stayed in. We ate in the hotel restaurant once, beautiful candle lit space surrounded by paddy fields and croaking frogs. We could not fault the food at all (although it was pricey) it was delicious. However we did find it so eerily quiet and lacking in a little atmosphere so we didn't return, preferring to sample the many restaurant options in nearby Ubud. Breakfasts were incredibly tasty and plentiful. In fact we found it unnecessary to eat again until dinner time, especially with the complimentary afternoon tea that is served anywhere you please.
The pool area is another stunning and peaceful space, as is the the spa. I had a facial and head massage and it was as good as any treatment I've had anywhere.
In short, this is the kind of place you don't come across very often. If you have the chance to stay here, don't hesitate, you will not regret it.

We stayed at the Chedi Ubud for 2 nights after a week diving in Raja Ampat ...this was the perfect way to end our vacation in Indonesia.
The Chedi is beautiful - surrounded by rice paddies and the beautiful estate architecture made our stay memorable. We had a pool villa and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and dining in room after a day of hiking and exploring the Ubud area. I highly recommend that you visit as many temples as possible - an amazing experience... especially if you ask the Chedi to arrange for a private tour guide.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Service was impeccable - you have your own 'butler' who helps with anything you need. The rooms are mini-villas - they are huge with a lovely outdoor/indoor bathroom - just beautiful. Rooms are finished to a very high standard. The pool area and grounds are stunning and the breakfast area is lovely. I don't know if this was a particular arrangement at the time - although the rooms are expensive, the mini-bar was free, laundry was included and there was complimentary cocktails and afternoon tea provided - all of which were fantastic and really helped create a luxury experience. We did yoga every morning which was hugely popular - again this was complimentary - the instructor was fantastic and the views over the paddy fields whist doing the sessions was incredible. I really cannot rate this place highly enough. There are lots of great places to eat in Ubud so you aren't restricted to the Chedi (restaurant is good but worth trying places in Ubud to get some variety). The breakfasts were fantastic. Totally amazing all round.

We stayed here for three nights in august 2012 and this was the perfect start to our trip. Set on the edge of rice fields, the chedi club is a collection of villas in sumptuous grounds with perfectly kept lawns, ponds and gardens.

The ratio of guests to space is incredibly generous and sometimes it felt as though we were the only guests here. I can’t remember sitting by a pool anywhere with such a luxurious atmosphere certainly not with us being the only people there.

Our room was the basic level but was equipped to a high standard with great air conditioning, sound system and a free mini bar, free laundry service, free wifi and you also get a free cocktail hour before dinner.

Of course nothing is really free and the price is high, however we felt it was still a great choice. Highlight was the welcome afforded to us by all of the staff who, without exception contributed to creating a special atmosphere.

Take the walking tour of the grounds and local surrounds if you can. Our guide Supri (who also doubled as our butler/concierge/housekeeping) did a fantastic job of introducing us to the basics of rice production and village life.

Thoroughly recommended.

This hotel is truly beautiful, with amazing little gardens and ponds throughout the property. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, from the people who met us at the airport and expedited our visas, to the butler assigned to our villa and the staff at the restaurant. Our room was immaculate, just like the grounds of the hotel. The restaurant served really great food (including healthy options at breakfast!), but we did have a few bugs and hairs in the food on occasion. The spa services were very good though rather expensive.
The only negative surprise we found was that the gym is very outdated, with one treadmill that hardly ran, and a few other machines which seemed quite old. But all in all, this is a very peaceful, beautiful getaway far from the noise of other Bali destinations, and guests are well looked after here.

Room Tip: There seem to be a few villas which are adjacent, but I think they cost as much as the villas which...
