Where to start? One of the best meals I've ever had! The food was amazing but it was more than that. The restaurant has a very sleek European feel, almost Scandinavian. All the tableware is made especially for Locavore from a studio somewhere in Bali. The lines on even the water jugs are beautiful. Our waiter was very gracious and helpful. The chefs really take pride in their work and often come out to the tables to explain the dishes. Our waiter told us 95% of the ingredients in the meals are sourced from Bali.
When we dined at Locavore some of our party had time constraints (babysitters) and we didn't have the luxury of extending our meal to the 5 or 7 courses. Instead we chose from the a la carte menu. It was amazing food, but looking around at other tables I did get a little meal envy seeing what other patrons were enjoying with the 5-7 course fare. So I would recommend taking your time and going for the 5-7 courses with wine parings. By Bali standards it is one of the more expensive restaurants but you get excellent value for money. In AUD my meal cost around $40 and that includes a cocktail, wine, main course and desert. Oh, and did I mention a bloody mary sorbet as a start! How yummy!
At the time of writing, the restaurant is not open on Sundays but open for dinner all other days (I don't know about lunch). I am sure Locavore will garner quite a following in the weeks to come and you may need to call ahead to make a reservation. I would highly recommend eating at Locavore!
