“PLEASE AVOID : WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

My fiancee recently booked a one bedroom villa with private pool for 2 nights over there. First of all, the map was wrong so when we get there with a taxi we were in the wrong place (a house with few rooms situated in middle of nowhere which belongs to the same owner, the villas are situated in another place!).
Not to mention we were very tired (woke up at 2 am that day because we had the Mont Batur trekking which was tough, back at 10 am in our previous hotel and the night before I got my leg injured) and starving we just wanted a good shower, food and sleep! Well we had to wait an hour before someone picking us up in order to get to the right place, the young receptionist couldn't speak English and couldn't understand the whole situation. Moreover, there was no way we would book ourselves a taxi (you have to walk a bit, cars aren't able to get there) and pay for it! She did numerous calls for nothing (after telling her to do so), I asked finally my bf to use his mobile phone and ring the place again as we start both losing our tempered ... We did well as the other lady said something to that young woman and finally the taxi was there (I asked him how long he have been there he said "15 mnt" in fact he wasn't able to reach that little girl!).
Anyway, we arrived over there no apologies nothing they straight asked for our passport and then showed us the "villa" (number 3 next to the reception) well there were 2 bedroom with its own bathroom (and a shared kitchen which was dirty!), one upstairs and one downstairs we found it weird that there were 2 bedrooms (we will understand later why 2 bedrooms)! We got the one upstairs you have a nice balcony (not a nice view though) but little/very cheap furniture and TV ?! The room itself wasn't cleaned (have a look under the bed, inside the armchair etc. you will see nice things), mattress and pillow too hard for us, cheap wood furniture, no safe, no hairdryer, hangdoors are even starting to break, humidity in the bathroom (no windows), water flood around the toilet, no shower/shampoo gel no amenities, 2 towels only etc. one word NIGHTMARE !! We had a big row with my fiancee, we were so disappointed and we regretted leaving our previous accommodation.
Anyway, room not cleaned the following day (so don't expect the twice daily cleaning if they aren't able to do once a day), no towels for the pool, no breakfast, wifi not working, we also took our money with us the day of the check out because we couldn't trust them (we let our stuff at the reception as we had a cycling tour from 7.30 am until 4 pm). Oh yes the previous night before our departure when we went back to our "villa" we had the big surprise to have some guests in the swimming pool so NO it isn't a private pool as we booked actually there were new residents accommodated in the bedroom downstairs ... Also be prepared to be awake around 5.30 and 7 am due to the temple situated opposite to the villas plus the "curtains" that let all the day light coming inside your room !!
Therefore, avoid that place instead of experiencing a wonderful stay you will have an awful one !!
Btw, you really need a motorbike or a renting car it is far away from UBUD centre (15-20 mnt by motorbike).

We were surprised that the villa is not able to be reached by car and were offered an upgrade by the owner to another location. However, with friends staying nearby we declined the offer. The last 200m from the car park is up a pleasant country trail which can be difficult with luggage in poor weather. The on site staff were very helpful and friendly and prepared a basic breakfast at an appointed time each day. The villa is situated in the middle of the rice field which is very picturesque and only a 10 -15 minute walk downhill to the ubud markets. Our rooms on the 2nd floor were not air conditioned but as it rained most days the ceiling fans were adequate. Like the bedroom, the bathroom has great views but improvements could be made by mounting the shower at a height that makes it possible to stand while showering rather than sitting in the bath. The king size bed was very comfortable.

First the + ..... If you don't have to go through this crazy process the villa is beautiful and the view on the rice fields extraordinary ! The breakfast excellent and the surrounding relaxing!!

As the previous reviews we were a first time brought to a wrong address then we called the owner that gave us an other adress, we looked for it and not finding the place called again... The owner tells us that the place is fully booked and "upgrade" us to an other place 30min from there. We arrive tired at this place after being looking for the hotel for 2hours and she told us this one is fully booked!! Very angry we ask were to stay and sends us to a so sayed "suksma III" which was just a hotel that had nothing to do with her's or what we booked !! The day after she send us to the first location which is beautiful in the rice fields but the bathroom dirty... !

I had a very unpleasant experience with Suksma similar to other guest. We were upgraded to another location without prior notice and the staff barely speak English. The map and address for suksma 1 were wrong and unclear so it was hard to find and no car can access. The location for Suksma 2 was not 10 mins like they claimed, it was at least 30mins without sidewalk. Also no wifi. Please book with caution.

Here is the detail for my
experience if you have time to read:
First, the map on the site is wrong, the actual location is about 0.5 mile further where no car can access. Also, the address listed didnt provide the actual number so it was extremely difficult to find especially in the pouring rain with luggage, it took us almost an hour to find the place. When we arrive to the location at 4:30pm, the two girls (one doesn't speak English)who worked there told us they don't have room for us and would like to upgrade us to their new location and the shuttle will arrive in 15 mins. We also asked about swimming pool and wifi that was listed under their amenities highlight, they said they don't have those. 45 mins passed and there are still no shuttle. I asked them if we can have any food since we were up at 6:00am and havnt eaten, they said they don't have food, so I asked where is the shuttle and they made a few phone calls and asked us to wait and they walked out. Meanwhile, two other hotel guests arrived and had the same problem as us finding the hotel and was very upset how far off the map was compare to the actual location. One girl came back after 20mins and said our shuttle is ready. The new guests tried to check in but she was shocked because she didn't know there are more booking. Then she got caught up trying to make phone calls (but no one picks up)and too occupied to take us to the location of the shuttle (somewhere down the hill) After another 10mins, I stopped her and asked to take us to the shuttle and she walked all of us down the hill. When we arrive to the new villa, we notice we are way far off from the ubud center in a very obscure location. The boy who works there took us to the back of the villa to a isolate room (which is quite nice) and I asked him if there any food in the villa and restaurants close by, he said no. So I asked him how to get to city center, he said walk. Then I asked him to show us the wifi, he couldn't find the connection. I felt like I was stranded in the middle of no where in heavy rain and couldn't go anywhere. So I requested to speak to the manager, he walked out and came back with a number, we couldn't call since there is no wifi but fortunately the shuttle driver who was waiting for the payment lend us a phone. We talked to the manager and she said she will come by. After 20 mins, the kids came back with the paperwork and said either we sign this or we leave and get a full refund. They will let us stay in this room for the night and move us again the day after. I was very upset and asked where is the manager and he said the manager is not coming so we had no choice but to sign the paper work. But he agree to let us stay in the same room when I request not to be moved again. At that point, I felt like the manager was trying to kick us out because they over booked and the two guests we met earlier still need a room. The whole process took us almost 4 hours and then we had to walk to find resturant without street light and in heavy rain. I checked their website and they said walking to ubud center is only 10 mins which is false because we walked there again during the day without the rain and it took at least 25 mins because there is no side walk to the way there. I had a very bad experience with this villa, not only the false advertisement and being relocate without prior notice, also the staff are young, inexperienced and barely speak English. Manager is not onsite and refused to show up. We only had two pieces of tiny soap to use in the bathroom. The location is way far from the city center.
P.s we bumped into the two guests we met and they said the villa booked another hotel for them because they were overbooked.

The place was beautiful BUT falsely advertised and definitely not ready for guests.
Firstly we were moved to another area outside of Ubud township. They said on the booking information it was a 5 minute walk to the centre however we were at least at least a 45 minute fast walk on busy roads with no paths. The 'close walking' is why we chose this accommodation.
The 'free shuttle' was not free and In fact expensive by Bali standards and took at least 15 minutes.
There were no sheets on the bed. No towels for showering only beach towels of which one was dirty (I won't elaborate it needed CSI) The villas kitchen had a fridge full of cobwebs and did eventually cool down however there were no glasses to drink from and no clean water.
The staff tried to be friendly but spoke very little Indonesian only Balinese which meant communication was very difficult. Overall. Don't stay here. It was very disappointing.

We booked in what was supposed to be Bali Suksma Villa1 in Ubud, but then we were sent a text message to say we had been "upgraded". We missed the text so it cost extra for the taxi to then take us to the "upgraded" villa, which they refer to as Bali Suksma Villa2.

Villa 2 is a half hour walk from the bottom of Monkey Forest Road. It seems the villa is actually in another village Nyuh Kuning. Its a pleasant enough walk, but not one we would feel comfortable to do at night - so need to rely on taxis - which was only about 40-50k Rp anyway ($4-5).

When challenged why we were "upgraded" to this outpost location, since we wanted wifi, they said Villa 1 has no wifi (not what it says in the description). As it turned out the wifi in Villa 2 (ground level) was next to useless unless you as good as stood on top of the fence.

The description said included a kitchenette. Not that we really needed it but it would have been nice to at least have a cup and a spoon to make a coffee!! Nice fridge and stove, but not a single piece of cutlery or crockery in the "kitchen" - nothing.

Breakfast was also included - on the description at least, but that was another myth - no mention of it, nor no response to a text and phone call to enquire about it.

The villa 2 was absolutely very clean and modern. It also has this very unique open to the sky water feature and fish pond in the bathroom... that is if you like watching a waterfall while on the toilet or standing in the shower! All very nice and a lovely small pool, but with the basic amenities missing and poor location, Villa 2 to us just didn't stack up to what we were sold - upgrade or no upgrade.

Room Tip: check for upgrades - I suspect it may be a common practice so not sure if this is a bit of con.
