“Decent Stay”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

I was looking for a villa/bungalow style accommodation in Ubud area and ran into Agung Raka. The photos online looked nice and price was very affordable. I also wanted to find a tour guide and a driver. After emailing back and forth with the manager, I was able to secure a deal to stay there for 3 nights with a tour guide and a driver. When we arrived, the accommodation was just as expected. At night time however, we couldn’t find our way around the property since they did not have proper lighting at the premises. Some of the amenities needed updating or renovation since they were falling apart.

We also discovered later on that we did not have a tour guide and ended up with just a driver. It was frustrating because we already paid in advance when we checked in, which was a big mistake. The driver ended up just taking us to various tourist places, which was fine, but we didn’t have a tour guide to explain the history or significance of each place. Other than that it was a pleasant stay and extremely inexpensive.

Our accommodation was excellent in every respect. There were superb views from all windows and upstairs balcony as well as the downstairs area that was made for relaxing during the day. The pool facilities were first class and the staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

We stayed at this place with two small children. We were supposed to be picked up at Padang Bay coming from Gili, bute there was no one showing up. After calling Agung Raka, they apologized but without hesitation payed for our taxi ride from Padang Bay to Ubud.
Having arrived we were at first offered a bungalow near a construction site. Insisting on another accomodation, they gave us a very nice bungalow at the other side of the premises. The surrounding is beautiful. Sitting in your own gazebo porch, listening to the sound of frogs, dragonflies and enjoying sunset.
One night we were annoyed by a barking dog and smoke coming from the next premises burning rubbish. The hotel staff solved this immidiately and was very understanding.
They also organised a friendly driver for us for a trip to Mount Batur.
Zhe pool was nice and clean. The kids enjoyed it. Great breakfast.

We stayed in their wooden-houses with a terrace view. The houses have two floor, (a large bedroom at upstairs) and amazing terrace and a great toilet at down floor. The service was correct and the staff served us breakfast on the terrace. Bungalows Agung Raka are situated very near from monkey forest ( 3-5 minutes walk from there).

This is one of the most dirtiest hotels that we stayed in during our trip through Bali.
The “bungalows” are extremely dirty. You can smell urine in the beds, on the klamboe you can see the semen rest.
It’s a pity that I didn’t take a picture of the fridge, believe me, the inside was covered with green mold.
We left the breakfast, having a cockroach in your fried egg is not my “cup of tea”
Please be warned ! Stay away from this hotel.

Very clean, friendly people, a very nice house with a lot of space.
Hot water, everything in Balinese style (also furniture), friendly staff, free shuttle to the center (1,5 km).
A pity next to it they were building new houses, made noise.
Breackfast okey, not great; restaurant.
A magnificent view on the rice fields

If you like nature and being surrounded by it, then this place is for you, nice and clean simple bungalows, 15mins walk to the the center of Ubud.

Bungalows are set in the middle of the ricefields, breakfast brought to you and served in your own terrace, with stunning views, it is not a luxury resort, just a nice clean resort and perfect location.
