On arrival at this small warung (just past Bayu's Kitchen on the way down the hill), I was greeted warmly by Ibu Prima.
The menu is quite small, but everything is vegetarian/vegan friendly. Nasi campur, cap cay, fried noodles are all there (plus some other items I have forgotten), plus cool drinks (lemon/orange juice, canned soft drinks, and green coconut) and tea/coffee.
I enjoyed a delicious nasi campur with red rice (very nutritious), tofu (tahu) curry, fried spicy tempe, beans and other tasty tidbits for RP20k - about $2. The sambal is worth trying too - delicious and not too spicy. The lemon juice (icy cold, not too sweet) was a perfect accompaniment.
Ibu Prima also sells her son's coffee, grown in her village, and local Balinese organic chocolate Chok Chok Chocolate.
I would definitely recommend Prima Warung for a simple, tasty lunch whether you are vegetarian or not.
PS While I was there a young man who had been discussing his work situation with a friend was offered two jobs by fellow diners. It's that sort of place.
