It's a beautiful sanctuary! But please read the rules- dont take food and feed the monkeys they have more than enough and are well looked after. When a monkey jumps on you, please dont run around and scream hysterically, just keep calm and walk on, they are just curious on what you have on you, they will jump off. And if you want to take your children with, warn them in advance that they are wild animals, they dont like being picked up or chased, they are wild animals and must be respected they will launch and become agressive if irritaded, and show some teeth. And dont look directly into their eyes unless you would like to be challenged. But a great experience!

This place was amazing. The nicely paved paths made for a easy hike. More monkeys than I expected to see.

We enjoyed this tourist attraction in Ubud. It was better than I expected. The grounds were very well kept. Would recommend if visiting Ubud.

Great way to see hundreds of monkeys. The forest is amazing with incredibly old trees and great nature to look at. It is a very popular tourist spot so it does fill up but there is plenty of area to walk around. Obey the posted rules about the monkeys and you will be fine. They do let you store items at the gates if you have loose items.

Only costs around $5 AUD adults and 3 or 4 for kids. Literally monkeys everywhere. You can spend an hour here or you can spend longer depending on you. Plenty of paths to walk and things to see and photo opps.... And of course monkeys. Just listen to the advice to ensure hats, spectacles, sunglasses, purses and phones are secure or put away as the monkeys can be very mischievous and pinch things faster than you can react. You can always try and "barter" with food or treats to get things back if you are lucky. It's a must see when in Ubud. The no keys even roam over the JL Monkey Forest and onto the pavements and into cafes and shops surrounding the forest. They are definitely funny to watch.
