We arrived here as first stop during our honeymoon (after that we have stayed at 4 other accomodations and so far this was the best!).
Our room was tidy and nice, decorated with plenty of flowers. There is a balcony, with a view to the pools and little rice field.
It was not noisy, we did not have any problems.
The location is great, Monkey Forest is 5 min walking distance and Ubud downtown is also easy to reach.
The staff is helpful, nice and proactive. They are not only smiling but do really wanna help. When we went for a Volcano trip (left the hotel at 2:30 at night), and arrived back at the hotel 5 min before closing breakfast, they still offered us the opportunity to eat and treated us really kindly. They made omlette and did not complained! I even said that we do not wish to cause troubles, we can be invisible and eat in 2 mins, they insisted to have a normal breakfast and relax.

Pool area is nice and they continuously take care of it to be clean all the time. They provide towels and ask around if you need something or if you wish to consume something during Happy Hour.

Rooms include afternoon tea with a small plate of local desserts as snack, such a lovely idea!

The garden is big and calming, they took care of rice terraces when we stayed there.

We had a perfect stay here and we were really missing it when we continued our trip and changed locations.

I made a reservation in May for my wife and mother in law to stay at this resort based on the reviews.
The resort charged me twice for the same booking.
I have been trying since late May to get a refund of AUS$600 for the additional charge.
The reservations team continue to promise to arrange the refund but nothing has happened.
Be aware when you book at this resort that they don’t charge you twice and be prepared for a long struggle to get your refund.
Avoid!!

We do understand about your disappointment as our resort should be a pleasurable dwelling to those guests who seeking serenity and peace. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, we’re really following up into this.

At the first time, we apologize that we did not receive your reservation through the website on the 21st of May 2019. It because there was an error in our booking system. We have checked this issue to our website booking partner and it has been fixed. We do apologize that we failed to meet your satisfaction, and we truly regret that we missed the mark. After we received your email regarding your card has been deducted for twice, we continue to do refund process to your account right after as we realize that you should not be waiting too long for this issue. Unfortunately, on the first and the second week fell on public holidays as it was on Eid Al Fitr day, which means Bank was on a long holiday and it is closed for approximately 2 weeks. Normally, the refund process would take time for 14 days working days. However, due to this national holiday, seems like the process itself will take a little longer than it supposed to be. And by today, we have double checked to our team and to the Bank as well that you will definitely receive your money back within this week, or the latest next week.

There is nothing more we could say except our sincere apologize for the things happened. We will definitely use this constructive feedback to improve our service better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future. As you may see on other reviews, we are known for caring deeply about our guests. We cannot fix the past but you can have our commitment to improving.

Once again, thank you for staying with us at Alaya Resort Ubud. We would appreciate another great chance to welcoming you back to deliver a kind of excellent experience as our commitment to deliver guest satisfaction.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever visited.
The room was amazing, the food too and the service - incredible!
The room - comfortable bed, amazing set up with the bathroom in extension to the bedroom and a hot tub in the middle of the room (we were staying at the deluxe room which is highly recommendable)
The food - there are two restaurants. One with a buffet and one with a la carte. There is something for every taste and if you want something besides the buffet, you can just ask the waiters for it - and they will make it.
The service - we don’t even know where to start cause the service is incredible! Every member of the staff is so smiling and accommodating. You don’t have to ask for anything, cause even the smallest things, they will think about it themselves and surprise you with even further service.
Special shoutout to a young guy called Fabry from the buffet restaurant which is doing an absolutely excellent job.

Besides all of this, there is a nice pool area with waiter service and a beautiful spa, where we had a very nice massage.

The only thing the hotel is missing is more late night activities for young adults.

All in all, we will recommend this hotel as a five star hotel and we will definitely be back.

Incredibly, even though the resort is located on a bustling main road in Ubud (about 10 minutes from the Sacred Monkey Forest), it manages to feel like you are tucked away in a little pocket of tranquility. The grounds are lush and green, the pool is gorgeous (the floating breakfast here is a must), and the rooms are palatial. Seriously, my friend and I had so much space, we didn’t know what to do with half of it! Staff are wonderful and eager to assist. We stayed here for three days; wished we could have tripled that! A magnificent place I can’t wait to return to.

This hotel is fabulous. It is perfectly located in ubud to allow you to walk to any venue. The hotel itself exceeded all of our expectations. Our stay was exceptional and the rooms were to “ die for”.
I would without exception recommend this hotel for anyone wanting an exceptional visit to Ubud.
