This has been a genuinely pleasant stay. It's only a brisk 10min walk to the centre of Ubud and is situated up a steep but small hill set amongst the rice paddy fields.
The staff are at hand to help with anything you need such as transport, booking of activities, laundry, ordering takeaway food etc...
Our 4 bed villa was well maintained and clean, with a lovely pool and good wifi.
Our house staff made simple but nice breakfast. Don't expect bacon or sausage!! Just fruit, eggs, pancakes and toasted white bread.
+ staff, location, size, clean, wifi
- breakfast could improve, bed sheets were poor quality.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
If you are looking for an amazing escape that has all the comfort of home but more...this is the place.
Just a walk from Monkey Forest that has all the great shops, dining and temples.
When I say home away from home...this villa is exquisite and nicely decorated with a beautiful pool after afternoon dip and sunbathing.
All of the rooms are very comfortable and clean.
Breakfasts are lovingly prepared and provided.
Our family of 6 just spent 5 wonderful days at the Villa Satori. The setting in the rice paddies was so lovely, waking up to the sounds of ducks and roosters and seeing the fireflies in the rice paddies at night. The views were beautiful in all directions and the villa itself was very comfortable with a lovely pool and garden as well as comfortable beds. We also enjoyed using the books and DVDs provided, as well as the delicious breakfasts made by Wayan, and overall had such a wonderful stay. The walk into Ubud was enjoyable due to the friendly people in the street and we loved getting fresh coconuts from Nyoman across the lane from the villa. We will definitely stay here if we come to Ubud again.
We actually stayed in the smaller 2 bedroom villa - Serena. But as there is not a separate listing for that villa, I have put my review under this one.
Everything about our stay at Serena exceeded our expectations. The villa and its location are beautiful - the setting amongst the rice fields, make it an idyllic retreat from the noise of the town (it is on a pedestrian and scooter only road, no cars for the last part where the villa is located). We didn't need to hire bikes, though, because the walk into town was so pleasant, and if we didn't feel like walking, Koman or Artha would be on hand to give us a lift (if you are in town, you can call them on the mobile that they provide for your use during your stay).
There are a number of villas here of various sizes. We stayed in Serena (2 bedroom) for 2 nights with friends and loved it so much that we came back a week later and stayed another 4 nights, just the two of us. We could've gone for the 1 bedroom villa, but had fallen in love with Serena.
I love that the staff come in of a morning to open up the villa so the breeze comes through (cannot hear them at all), and come back in the late afternoon to close up and turn down the beds. Every morning, the girls come and prepare breakfast (there are both western options and Indonesian), and it is delicious!
The decor is modern Balinese. The beds are super comfortable and there is plenty of space to spread out. I love the private pool surrounded by tropical plants and the dining area on the patio. We had dinner in house one evening, we gave the girls money to go shopping for the ingredients and they cooked it in the afternoon (there was change of 200,000 rupiah for 4 adults and plenty of food left over!).
The attention to detail in both service and cleanliness is not something that you get everywhere in Bali. Each day the villa was cleaned, including the floor, which our villa in Seminyak did not do.
There is someone on site all the time, which is comforting, but you can also put the 'do not disturb' sign out. The villa is very private and peaceful. There are a number of other villas in the area, but having a walled garden with a private pool is not offered in many other places on this stretch - and this stretch of road is gorgeous.
This place is now my go-to place in Ubud, and I will definitely be returning.
Delightful. We stayed at the Serena Villa, a very well appointed two story, 2 bedroom dream home. The pool is welcoming after a short trip down to Ubud. The entire staff are helpful and efficient. ( Dishes, glasses, etc. are washed each time a staff member enters) Breakfast is provided in situ every morning. Dinner can also be prepared. Receipts for your choice of locally purchased food are provided. Ice cube friendly freezer. Each room a pleasure. Memorable views.
Staff always available to motorbike guests up and down the ascending country lane. What Fun! Ubud has so much to offer. Even stays exceeding a week will seem too short when pampered at the Satori Resort.
Satori Villas is made of a few private villas and we stayed in Villa Serena. We were greeted at the community center by a small group of staff who escorted us and our luggage up to our villa via motorscooter. Initially we were tentative about the 10 minute walk from the villa to the main street in Ubud, but it proved to be one of the more fun/adventurous/unique parts of this location. Komang, one of the employees was indispensable. He was always on hand and constantly gave us rides up and down the pathway on his scooter, rain or shine. Delicious breakfast made by the cook staff who were friendly and accommodating. Very quiet location and tasteful house decor. You can see people working in the rice fields directly outside your window.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Satori. Yes it was a little way out of Ubud, but we liked that, especially after 4 nights in Kuta.
Many people on tripadvisor raved about the meal cooked by Wayan so we had high expectations - and they were met! The dinner cooked by Wayan was indeed the best meal we had in Bali (I also recommend Spice on the main street). The drivers (both called Gede) were also lovely, although it was actually a bit too hot for a private tour.
The information provided by the owner (restaurant recommendations, etc) was also very useful.
All in all, lovely place, highly recommend it
