“Good swimming pool, nice staff, quiet place nearby center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2014

We planned to stay for 3 nights, but we finally stayed a week and even came back for the last two nights before leaving Bali. The hotel is located near the end of the nice and narrow Kajeng Street, and fairly quiet. However, the Palace and market are only a 5-10 minutes walk away.
The rooms (one-piece independant villas) are large and have a front and back patio and hot water showers. The bathrooms are satisfactory. Breakfast is OK but "light": only two or 3 half toasts or a small pancake, which is delicious by the way. Tea or coffee served in pot.
The clean swimming pool was the place to be for our 6 years old son!
A few minutes' walk further down the road leads to you rice terraces where in the evenings you can admire the sunset. Two nice walks can be done from here, one passing by the Dicarik Warung, the other by the Organic Warung.
Very pleasant manager and his wife and little daughter; kind and helpful!

I stayed for a week because I got a good deal on Agoda.com that included breakfast in the price. However, my room was a little rundown BUT again, I got a GOOD deal plus its Indonesia where good budget accoms can be hard to find and where you must have realistic expectations about what you do get for a low price.

With that said, breakfast was good, choice of fresh juice/fruit, coffee/tea and pancake/toast/jaffle. Wi-fi was usually speedy and working (I usually could upload pictures). Pool looked clean BUT frankly its too cool to swim in Ubud. Room had mosquito netting over the bed (a must have item). The frogs, insects etc. in the stream could be very noisy at night BUT that's much better than roosters (did not hear many of them) or motorbikes/cars (very few as its near the end of the road).

The guest house is in a bit of a weird location as its almost at the end of the road away from town (across from a school) but not yet in the rice paddies (a minute walk to the last unspoiled ones in Ubud) which you can't see. Its perhaps a 10 minute or less walk to Ubud Palace and there are restos further down the road - just bring a flashlight for late at night as sometimes the road could be dark if all the lights were not on...

Room Tip: My room was a little rundown BUT again, I got a GOOD deal on Agoda that included breakfast. So I am...

I planned to only stay for 1 night, but after being treated very well by the friendly owner and his wife I decided to stay a week. The villa style accomodation is conveniently located to reach all sights of Ubud within a 10 minute walk. The villas are large and include a front and back patio, hot water showers and those near to the restaurant have reliable & fast wifi. There is also a small kitchen where the staff can prepare food as ordered & make a large pot of coffee in the mornings. The washrooms are satisfactory and it should be noted that this place is most suitable for early-risers as the schoolchildren across the street practice their Balinese dance each morning at 8:30 - something to experience while in Bali! A 2 minute walk leads to you a (fairly) secluded rice terrace where in the mornings you can have a view of the sunrise over the nearby volcano! Last but certainly not least - there is a clean pool with sun all day!

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a villa in the back of the property - they have a nicer view and are further aw...
