I stayed at this hotel in mid-January 2013. One morning as I sat on the patio outside my room, I watched the sun rise, a farmer tending to his geese while hearing a rooster crow in the distance. As I sat sipping coffee, I thought, "it doesn't get better than this." The hotel is new, it is beautifully appointed, the setting is quiet, landscaping is rxtraordinary, the staff extremely attentive and accommodating; the total package is very relaxing. A 10 minute bike ride from downtown, the atmosphere is very relaxing. It takes a while for the water in the shower to warm-up. Overall, the total package made my stay in Bali worthwihile.

Checked in four four nights, Hotle olcated in a quiet corner. Nearest shophouse around 5 minutes ride away. It was very quiet at night, no sound of traffic, only the sound of crikets in the nearby padi field. But although the hotel was very new, we had a flooded bathroom. Every time you siit down on the toliet bowl, your feet will step on a smal pool fo water left behind from your shower previously. The so call buffet breakfast considered of only a rice, fried egg, bread and fruits. Very limitied selection and food was a bit cold. But the great staff and service makes up to whatever unhappiness we had. They will go all out to please and answer your query. Nothing was nonsense to them. One night, my friend realised she had forgotten to buy cigarettes at around 1am in the morning. She seriously thought of walking out to the nearby convinent store, which was around 10 min walk to get it. The receptionist saw her walking out alone and ask her if she needed anything. When my friend told her the reason, she told my friend not to walk by herself and they arranged for transport to drive her out. In the middle of the night, and for something stupid like a pack of cigarettes! I really salute to them!

Room Tip: Get the upstairs room are more quiet. Some of the rooms are without bath tub.

This is a lovely resort just outside Ubud (7-10 minutes by car). Its a brand new property opened just in September 2012.
I stay there for 2 nights in Dec 2012. Staff is very nice and friendly. They arranged a pickup/drop to Ubud city center anytime I needed. Nice location outside busy Ubud. Nice view. One side is the rice fields and other side it a huge farm and the garden. Rooms are nice and decent sized.
I would certainly go back to this resort.. Good value for money

Room Tip: Get a room with the view of the garden and a big farm..

We arrived at the Bhuwana Ubud Hotel and they had lost our booking. The place looked empty and it took some time to work out room availability. They was a great deal of confusion about the booking of a twin room as there were only doubles available and then suddenly a twin room was available.
We found out the there was only one other booking for that night and the hotel was not officially open. It would not be opening until August.
The pool looked inviting and was a good size but we found out that no cocktails were available. We later discovered the hotel was trialling Halal and therefore no spirits.
The hotel was quite a distance from Ubud. The shuttle timetable seemed limited but we were given free access at any time which was very convenient. The driver was very helpful and especially in the rain assisting with shopping bags.
The breakfast was very limited consisting of a small choice and small servings. One day they ran out of croissants.
Rooms were basic with few channels on the tv and only one in English. We had no soap in our room. We waited for up to 10 minutes for hot water.
Overall we had paid quite a cheap rate for the hotel and it was new and pleasant however as it was so new there was still building going on and not everything was available.

This is a new hotel which has been set in beautiful gardens with views onto surrounding rice fields.

I would recommend a stay as unlike some other places the places is well kept, fully working, nice bathrooms... But make sure you ask for an upstairs room to get the view.

The staff were the most helpful I met in Bali, organising a show, organising free transport, opening the bar in the evening and even giving a free tour of the rice paddy fields, well worth getting up for but wAtch your footing!

Only thing is that as it is new it is not well known so take directions and be aware there are not many people about so not so sociable and breakfast although ok not the best as lacking turnover & variety.

Room Tip: Get an upstairs room, much better views.

My husband and I recently went to Bali. We stayed in Ubud for 2 nights at Bhuwana. It is a newer hotel, so most taxi drivers do not know of it's location. It is not in "the heart of Ubud" as one person noted. It is on the outskirt of town, the last main road before leaving town. It would take maybe 20 minutes just to walk to the edge of the main part of town, and there are not many sidewalks on that road. We did not walk it. And in the heat-it's worth the $5 taxi ride. Take a business card with you to show the driver the address.

The rooms are clean and presented well. We stayed in a room on the first floor. It's definitely not a Marriott if that's what you are used to. It is nice but not a 4 or 5 star hotel. There is not a gym on site and the spa area was still under construction.

The gardens are nice, but beware of the spiders. There bodies are the size of an adult hand and the legs are longer than your fingers.

One morning a bug had died outside of our room, and ants had gathered. When we returned they were gone, and the maid had left an ant tab for us if more returned. Nice touch. The rooms had a refridgerator with freezer section but did not have a safe.

The breakfast was ok. It's food if you are hungry, but again I wouldn't say it's 4-5 stars. The pancakes were doughy, the eggs and rice good, and the fruit very fresh. A few breakfast rolls were also available.

The hotel was not busy when we were there. The service is great, and the people very friendly. We rode the bikes down the street for about 30 minutes. The nearest rice fields to ride through are on the north part of town so we did not ride that far. The hotel shuttle was handy and we used it to get into town, and then took the taxi's at the end of the evening home.
I felt that it was too far from town and wish we were closer. Once we had stayed there I wished we had chosen a hotel in town, where we could have walked out of our hotel and been on the main street immediately. But if you want absolute silence- this is the place!

We choose this hotel to do some cycling in Bali. We could use mountainbikes and helmets of the hotel for free. The hotel is situated between the rice fields in a quiet area, and Ubud is only 3 km. You can easily walk over there or use the free shuttle bus of the hotel. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpfull. They give a great service. They are always willing to tell you about Bali, things to see and the habits and traditions. Rooms, restaurant, reception area are very clean and well maintained.
The rooms are spacious, and have all a great view facing the beautifull gardens. Swimmingpool area is nice, towels are availible. Breakfast was very good, als dinner was good for a good price.
