Description: This beautiful one-man-show restaurant serves up delicious food in a unique setting. Restaurateur Amier has been catering to Ubud locals, expats and visitors since 2011. He first opened his small warung on Jalan Gootama and later moved to his larger space on Jalan Raya Andong. All dished are prepared from scratch by Amier himself in a traditional home cooking style.

The first night we arrived in Ubud, we stopped by this place as it was highly rated. There were no customers at that time and we noticed a sign outside saying “ reservations only”. The restaurant only has two tables, one inside and one outside and we didn’t have reservation. My wife just walked up to the owner, Amier who was hanging out at the table inside and asked him if he could fit us in for dinner and he said sure.

The food was excellent and flavorful. After we ordered, we could hear Amier start cooking. The food couldn’t get any fresher than that! The downside was it took a while. But we were on vacation and just hanging out relaxing and people watching.

We liked the place so much that we made reservation to go back two nights later.. When we went back the second time, it still didn’t disappoint. Price was also reasonable.

The menu is super small, just 2 entrees I think. But the menu changes each day. So you could eat there every day and never eat the same dinner. The menu also shows what is served days ahead so you can plan another day if you want. We did!

A tiny place but with a very good food. We loved the atmosphere and to discuss with the owner. For sure it has taken a bit to get our meal served but he is making everything on request with fresh food.

We stumbled across this tree table warung when looking for a bar. As the restaurant is so small, the owner has to take reservations only.
We booked for the following night and he took out order there and then as he cooks all meals fresh before customers arrive. We had the chicken curry indonesian style and chicken curry Indian style. Bother we're delicious and portion sizes were plentiful. We then had fried banana with palm sugar sauce which was sooooo tasty! We could have had a bowl of that on its own!
The owner is a one man band - he is chief, waiter and cleaner which makes for an intimate night. He was very pleasant and chatty.
If you are looking for good home cooked food at reasonable prices then this is the place to come.

We have just returned from a delicious meal at Warung Saya. The food was lovingly prepared by the eccentric Amair, and was nothing short of fresh and tasty. We tried to make a reservation a few days ago, however he was fully booked, but I can safely say that it was worth the wait! We tried all three dishes on offer, a mix between traditional Balinese and an Indian style curry chicken, they all rated highly and there was not a morsel left on our plates! Highly recommended, just make sure you book well in advance!

This is a tiny Warung with just 3 tables serving some of the tastiest and freshest food I've ever eaten (and I eat out A LOT!). There are a lot of good restaurants in Ubud, but this place has become extremely popular through word of mouth, so a reservation is essential.

Definitely somewhere to go for a leisurely meal rather than when you're in a rush, as the owner is the chef, waiter and maitre d' and everything is cooked from scratch. But it's a great spot to sit and watch the world go by, and the lighting is very pretty at night. We ate here on 2 occasions, and both times were amazing - we just wished we'd discovered it earlier in our stay! Try and get a table outside as it gets pretty hot inside when Amier is creating his masterpieces!
