There are a number of Western restaurants in Ubud. This is one of the better ones. Not so much fine dining as no-nonsence, well-cooked, wholesome food. The night a large party of us went there a few of us decided to sample their various sausage dishes - English, pork, or German. All were excellent. Apparently they are made by a German butcher, locally, so we were told. We had a long table on the top floor, open, with good views. The loo (toilet) on that floor has to be visited to be believed. It is simply beautiful: the plants, the cleanliness, the little touches. The same attention to detail, and love of doing things well, extended to the smiles and cheerful willingness of the staff. Some of the dishes took a tad longer than others, but the restaurant was full. And it was Ubud.
