We ate there two times while we were in Ubud and both times we were delighted. Food was excellent. Staff is very friendly. The second time our table was joined by a very nice couple, so we had the opportunity to meet new people. We really enjoyed it and all for a good cause.

Dear Alex (and the angels). I hope that my review does not offend you. I really like what you are doing and how you do it but i must base my review exclusively in the restaurant and the food because thats basically what people expect to have when going there.

I went to your restaurant because of the high rating here in tripadvisor but i left disappointed. Food was nice but average (i know now the reason), and except for the foundation thing i would not repeat eating there or recommend it.

Dear friend, how are you? Thanks for coming to the Bali Sari Foundation!

No worries;-) But your review make me a little bit Sad!

Ok... In a few words: Why your participation in Foundation programs, and your visit to "Fair Warung Bale" is important, essential and so appreciated!

The Foundation in few words:
115m2 of medical clinic, two consultations beds, 3 doctors and 5 to 8 nurses - All are local people;
Medical and surgical care, emergency services (Free Health care for people in needs);
Cardiological examinations, blood tests, disease screening, disease prevention, etc...
One Social Pharmacy (Free drugs for people in needs);
One clinic mobile which carries the poorest and sickest patients from remote villages to the clinic;
Efficient medical equipment, last generation ECG machine (LCD Screen). Resuscitation equipment etc ... (We still need equipment ...)
The costs for the construction and renovation of the clinic amounted to more than 45,000 U.S. dollars
At 70%, the clinic was funded by the profits of the Fair Warung Balé;
For the balance, thanks to your donations and Fair Future Foundation...

For the moment, we suppose to have more than 25’000 patients per year, and increase;

The monthly budget is around 5'000 U$D per month. It's include : Medical staff salary, Drugs, medical supplies, electricity, water, maintenance of the clinic etc...

Everything is paid by the benefits of our workshop, the Fair Warung Balé, the Bali Sari Foundation (Indonesian NGO) and the Fair Future Foundation (Swiss NGO).

The new clinic is located 500 meters from the "Fair Warung Balé", in Jalan Sugriwa. If you want to visit it, just ask the staff. For sure, it will be our pleasure to show it. Go there and talk with the Physicians and the nurses.

All the young people who's work in the Fair Warung Balé are not professional! They are here to learn about everything! I'm Alex, the founder, i'm nurse and i'm 100% volunteer!

Thanks for your time, thank you for your good sense and your kindness!

With love

Alex (from Switzerland)

We ate here several times on our recent visit to Ubud, and each time the food was excellent- they had a nice menu of both indonesian and select foreign dishes; Perhaps even better than the food, was the service and the atmosphere... And all for a very good cause (The Fair Clinic)... Fun place!... Worth a visit.

We decided to try this place after reading the rave reviews but we came without reservation. We were lucky to have seated in the bale hut. We ordered Thai chicken (very delicious!) and Nasi Goreng (mushy rice and poor tasted). The price is average for warungs in Ubud. IMHO, it's not the best place to eat in Ubud. The service was very slow. We need to wait approx. 40 minutes for our food to come. But the owner approached us and told about the good cause behind the warung. They helped local people and I gave it 4 star because of that. He was lovely to be chatted with and his son was enjoying play-time with my son. Would love to support this place more but they need improvement in service and English.
