As you head north on Jalan Raya Sanggingan from Ubud, immediately before the steps upto Bintang supermarket look for this doorway with a metal sign ICA written vertically. You will be happy to find this tiny restaurant that serves a modicum of authentic Indonesian dishes at very reasonable prices. There are only six tables but you will be welcomed with a smile and handed a sheaf of A4 photos of various dishes with their names written above. The prices are in the IDR 20,000s range. We both enjoyed a Soto Ayam and the table next to us had a great looking Nasi Campur. Our soup was served with rice, fresh sliced lime and fresh minced chillies on the side (beware).
This little place is an intimate space, eclectically decorated and well worth a visit for some simple and delicious Indonesian food.
