we were here a year ago and loved Atman especially for breakfasts, their juice mixes are super, the eggs benedict too. Great coffee and friendly staff. A must!

“"Comfy little cafe - great food"”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch and ended booking for dinner that same night. We sat at a low table on cushions...my biggest concern was if we were ever going to be able to leave the comfort of this great little establishment!!!

For lunch we had gado- gado (fresh and delicious) and bacon and egg toastie (huge and tasty) and for dinner we chose a few tapas dishes - steamed corn, chicken satay and sushi - beautiful meal and great value.

Atamn is a comfortable cafe in good location with friendly staff and great food!!!

“Surprise surprise.”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

We found this cafe by sheer accident. We needed to use the bathroom so went next door to some cooking school come kafe and were completely ignored. End of story was that we left and went to this place. It looked nice and was full of people of all ages. Good sign I think. In we went and we were not disappointed. First you take off your shoes if you are dining inside. There were low tables with cushions or tall chairs and benches or normal tables and chairs. We had the best iced coffee ever but it is called on the menu "organic cold brew coffee" It's a bit of a production and you have to put all the elements together. Something like a tea ceremony. Our BLT meal was also very tasty and good value. The location is half way down Jalan Hanoman and a good spot for people watching. We found the atmosphere very relaxing and peaceful. The service was good. Nothing at this kafe was a disappointment. Shame we found this place towards the end of our stay in Ubud but we did manage two visits just for the organic cold brew coffee and the nice staff. There is an australian connection here.

“Nice place, good food, not always peaceful”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Went there three times back in June 2013. They serve some really tasty food and drinks, the brekkie burritos, lassies and coffee and cake variations are especially outstanding. The location is also pretty nice although whether or not you like being so close to the somewhat busy road is a matter of taste. (I personally found it pretty relaxing when it's raining)

Also the staff was friendly, although I wish they could have handled some situations more professionally at times. Being asked to change tables mid-meal for so-called technical reasons ruins the experience, especially when another customer comes in and gets to take your former spot without being told anything, also I really didn't like that at some point, when some gibberish-speaking, half-crazy, half-drunk western customer almost tried to fight me for protecting my girlfriend he had been intimidating for some time already, the waiter just looked and laughed instead of kicking the guy out of the bar. Granted, on the next day we walked by the place again by chance, and the waiter went out of his way to meet us and apologize for his behavior (apparently he was scared) ; but still, I never fully digested that he had let that dangerous person get so close to us without doing anything, I guess just because he was also, technically, a customer.

So yes, the food is good, and the location isn't too bad, but watch yourself there, the staff is friendly and all, but don't count on them when it comes to handling too many things.
