“Amazingly relaxing property”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

This resort located in a quite area of Ubud with the view of the rice field. A very warm hospitality from the staffs working here make this resort stands out from its competitors. F&B products are great (I really recommend you to try the nasi goreng, the Balinese fried rice) and rooms are just awesome. The facilities offered in this property are also one of the best and offered lots of convenience to guests. Lastly, I would really recommend this property to visitors visiting Bali.

This resort is very nice located as just a short distance from Ubud centre. It just take 5 minutes by car.
The resort is very well arrange in balinese style. The bedroom are nice and quite big. We arrived earlier than the checking time and our standard room ( lanai terasse ) was not yet ready as previous customers were still inside. They asked us to wait little bit but after 20 minutes they came back to us and told us that they will upgrade in a suite room.
The swimming pool is quite small but as they the ressort as only little of rooms then when we went to enjoy the swimming it was like it was our private pool as we were alone to swim.
The Breakfast is quite good with fresh juice of fresh fruits, basket of bread and pastries and eggs according to your cooking choice.
All the staff is very friendly, helpfull and always smiling.
The only thing which is not very nice is that actually arround the resort they do some others villas or resort construction so you heard some noise sometimes during the day. But this is definitly not a problem as during most of the day you are supposed to be outside the hotel to visit the wonderful countryside of ubud area.

Room Tip: If you want to book at a very good price, check first the price on internet ( resort official websit...

Firstly, I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Wapa Di Ume, we could not ask for more hospitality than what we received and experienced. This was our 4th stay at this wonderful Resort, this time we stayed in the Terrace pool Villa for 4 nights from 7/01/14, the Villa was clean and well appointed, and our pool was perfect for relaxing after a day touring or shopping. The surroundings are tranquil, with rice fields as the backdrop, at night the sounds of Bali come alive with nature.
We continue to return because apart from the care and quality we experience, we find that the management and staff practice the Tri Hita Karana principals for a sustainable Bali and for this we are grateful.
This is a must visit Resort for those who wish to unwind and experience traditional Balinese hospitality.

I booked based on the glowing Trip Advisor reviews. As soon as we arrived our hearts sank, it was nothing like we had envisaged.
I feel Wapa di Ume is overrated, underwhelming and poor value for money. The mosquitoes were a major issue and our villa had total lack of privacy from other guests. They could look straight in when walking past. The marble inside the villa is dangerously slippery when wet, beds super hard. Half of the power points wouldn't work with Australian adapters. Looking over rice paddies turned out to be looking out onto muddy fields as the rice had just been harvested ( see photo). The pool was too cold for swimming and there were limited shabby lounges. Partial temporary bamboo screens had been erected to help screen out a massive and noisy construction site opposite pool area (see photos). After an initial mix up with our booking and look around the property, I approached reception and explained that we wanted to reduce our stay from 3 nights to 1. I had paid for 1 night upon booking but had to pay another night penalty for cancellation (including breakfast charge for 3 persons!)
I rang our previous resort and we travelled back to Sanur to spend the rest of our trip there.
This resort has a lack of stimulation, privacy and mosquito problem. I don't recommend it for families.

1. The staff- fantastic, well spoken and highly attentive and personal
2. The food was amazing!
3. The room was clean (a lot of ants at times but they spray regularly) and spacious and cool and looked over stunning rice paddies
4. The facilities are wonderful, gorgeous pool, yoga room, just wandering around is nice
5. Shuttles every hour!

My partner and I stayed here and had contracted bali belly from our stay in Kuta. The staff were very helpful and polite. I don't recommend this for families unless you are confident in entertaining your children with minimal stimulation. It is very much, in my opinion, a couples retreat or yoga retreat.

I have actually stayed at this lovely property a number of times but never gotten around to writing a review.
The hotel is lovely. Set amongst the rice paddies just off the main part of town.
It is super quiet and tranquil.
I stayed in a one bedroom pool villa overlooking the rice paddies, and it was just perfect. You can lay by the pool and read a book or look out over the rice paddies from your little balcony. You can hear the cicadas and birds
The rooms are very spacious and airy and the decor is very modern and fresh. Outdoor bathroom.
The breakfast is good. The hotel also has on on site organic garden and cooking school.
They have a good pool, a yoga room and a little temple you can get married at.
Shuttle bus into town and back. you could walk it in maybe 25 minutes.
if you exit the hotel and follow the road to your left on foot or by bike/scooter it is a lovely scenic road. You pass farmers, rice paddies, valleys, little villages .. a temple.
would highly recommend.

We stayed at Wapa for almost a week with our 5 year old. We were very impressed with the high level of service, the excellent restaurant food, the fantastic cooking school, the cleanliness of the rooms and the hourly 2 way shuttle into town. The staff are lovely and have worked there for many years. The hotel is beginning to show its age in some ways but overall the rooms are lovely with excellent beds and mosquito nets. I would love to stay there again.
