We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is in the original Bali style and radiates the friendliness of the Balinese people. A beautiful breakfast is served each morning on the balcony and the pool is just a dream to swim in. The staff are very happy and helpful and will help you arrange anything you would like to do. It is very well located close to restaurants and shops. The rooms have a truly relaxed style are very clean and spacious reflecting the life in Ubud; fresh flowers everyday are an added bonus as is the incense burning in the gardens.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 11B which looks directly at the pool and the lush gardens.

This is our second visit in less than a year. The staff is helpful and does a fantastic job. The rooms have been upgraded since our last trip. The hotel is clean and comfortable. i am hesitant to say too many good things as reservations become harder to get.

Make this your home away from home when in Ubud!

My husband and I stayed in room 1B which is on the 2nd floor. The best part about our stay here were its convenience and the morning breakfast served on the balcony that overlooks the rice terraces. It was lovely to sit out in the morning sun and relax before hitting the streets of Ubud. The staff would help if you ask a question, but otherwise, that was about the extent of service. Everything is relatively clean and the pool area is nice to enjoy. As another reviewer mentioned, the cost ended up being more than we expected. Make sure to check the service and tax fees before finalizing your booking.

Room Tip: 1B only has one neighbor, is on the second floor, and has a nice balcony overlooking the rice fields...

I booked two rooms as I didn't feel four two adults and two children could fit in one room, and it ended up costing $165 night, which was such a rip off for the standard offered. Okawati is trading on the fact that it is mentioned in most guidebooks, and hikes up its prices accordingly. The other hotels in the same lane are much nicer and half the price! I felt completely ripped off staying in this place, and the young guy on the front desk had a really condescending manner. The older woman was lovely, but having to interact with the young guy, in addition to the feeling of paying way too much for the room really spoiled our stay here.

I decided to stay in that hotel given all the positive comments from trip advisor reviews, but I was very disappointed about this choice. We only stayed 2 nights, time to find another hotel in Ubud.
To be honest, I don't understand what people find positive about Okawati. The rooms are very old, dark and look uncleaned. The bath tube was blocked, they did not change towels everyday etc.
The outdoor garden looks lovely and location is good though.
The breakfast is just ok, the service is nice but a little bit slow.
My opinion is this hotel is overpriced and overated, I found much better hotel in Ubud for the same price.

Travelled with 3 young children and enjoyed a faultless welcome at this spotless, family hotel. Recommended.

Food was great, laundry returned clean, well ironed clothes. Reception helped with booking made elsewhere and the owner made sure she said hi and asked after us each day. Easy walk to everything. Lovely large family room, great pool and amenities

This place is built in traditional Balinese style - carved bedsteads, little shrines everywhere and staff in traditional Balinese dress. The fruit and yoghurt for breakfast is delicious (homemade yoghurt - yum) and staff are friendly and helpful.
Showers aren't fantastic and rooms show a little wear and tear, but it's worth it to stay in a genuine Balinese, convienently located place, especially given the price!!
