“Biyukukung is the best place to relaxing in Ubud”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Last month I have my first time trip to Ubud, Bali. Its really a good place an its perfect that I stayed in Biyukukung Suites and Spa. Located on Ubud City area, which is a strategic area. Everyday when I woke up, I can see the beauty of paddy field with the sunrise. The other thing that make me happy is, the Yoga Barn is about 5 minutes from Biyukukung. Its create a good memory, and I really miss this place :)

I definitely will come back to Biyukukung if i come visit Ubud again. It is located on a strategic area where i can walking around to find delicious food, supermarket and ATM. Yet, it is a peaceful place surrounding by paddy field, perfect to enjoy sunrise. The service is excellent, all staff are helpful and the room also very nice and clean. I really recommend this place. :)

Situated at the very end of Jalan Sugriwa, took our taxi driver some time to find his way there as the access road was slightly hidden. Location-wise, it is about 15 minutes walk from the main Ubud market hub and shops but much nearer to the monkey forest about 7 minutes brisk walk away. The saving grace is its close proximity to a Coco Mart (3 mins walk) which is a clean. supermarket where you can stock up your food supplies and small souvenirs back home, if you find haggling a hassle at the Ubud market.

Pros:-
1) Polite hotel driver (Agung) who can drive you anywhere in Ubud. He is very courteous and give suggestions on what you can do there as well as to pick you up on your appointed time. He pointed out a dance that was scheduled on Saturday night at the Ubud Palace and we would have missed that if not for his advise.
2) Massage center on the hotel itself. They have traditional oil massage, hot stone with pricing a bit on the high side. (even with the 50% hotel guest discount). However service and quality of massage was excellent and since it is at the hotel premises itself, you can easily relax back at your room after the relaxing massage.
3) Fantastic morning view as the room is directly opposite the green paddy fields.
4) Small touches of hospitality like having anti-mosquito scents out at night, fruit basket, rack to hang clothes outside the room.

Cons:-
1) A-la carte Breakfast (pancakes or eggs or omelettes with juice and fruit) despite being delicious and having great view over the paddy fields, became boring after 3 days stay there.
2) Shower (irregular temperature setting) and toilet a bit old and need some updating.
3) We stayed at the room closest to the farthest swimming pool (near the massage area) which has a lot of privacy but have to walk pass rooms along the path. Thus if you desire privacy you are out of luck if you are in those rooms.

I would stay here again if I desire a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud.

Room Tip: Try to get a room closest to the farthest swimming pool

Lets start with the positives, the scenery is beautiful overlooking the rice fields, the hotel staff are lovely, the beds were very comfortable, the pools were kept very nice and the location was perfect (right near monkey forest and many supermarkets/restaurants/shops). The breakfast was ok (choice of eggs, pancake and omelette - still hungry after through, they don't feed me much!)

..I hate to complain but - the rooms SMELT. everytime i would come back from an outing I would go eughhh. There were cobwebs everywhere, mould in the shower, dirty toilet spiders, their wasn't much security or way of keeping the mosquitoes out as there are holes on the doors...

I stayed in the 'PIPIT' room which maybe it is the worst one? wouldn't stay here again. They need to up their cleanliness in the rooms!!

Room Tip: PIPIT room - maybe the standard- not so good

Our agent booked 4 nights in this small resort. First impression was good. Nice views over the rice field, free wifi, great breakfast, nice swimming pools, airconditioning. However, the rooms are dirty. Sheets were not clean, there is dust everywhere, fungus on the walls, toilets did not flush very well. The open air bathroom was a complete mess after some heavy rain. The location is ok, 10 minutes from the monkey forrest and 20 minutes from the centre of Ubud. However, sitting in front of the room, with the great views was a very relaxing experience.

over all is good cozy with beautiful scene ray , however a little comment for bed with smelling , may be because of tropical weather with high humidity . location is in central of Ebud which you can find many good resturants and their famous Dirty Duck originate in 1999

Location of this hotel was tucked away behind the famous Bebek Crispy Duck. A short work to Yoga barn if anyone love yoga. It's not difficult to find. Also a short walk to Monkey Forest road.
The view of the padi field is so surreal and once you sat outside your room, it's like another world. Quiet and peaceful. Great for couple and families too.
Too bad I fell really ill on the day I checked in. Only thing bad is, they do not have room service. I was so sick that I have to walk out to have food. Luckily it's not a far walk to all the eating places.
I suggest they should partner to some of the nearby restaurant for delivery at least. People get hungry and wish they don't have to leave their room.
Luckily the staff was nice enough to bring me breakfast when I told them I was sick.
Also, they brought me to the nearest clinic to see a doctor. thanks so much.

Since they gave 50% off for spa, I decided to take the package. although it's a bit more than those along Ubud.I find the spa room are nice and clean.
