Owner description: The Campuhan Ridge Walk is arguably the best known Ubud trek and with good reason. The sparse crowds and the aesthetically rich vistas remind one of why people from around the world come to Bali. The trail starts at the historical origin of Ubud, the confluence (or Campuhan) of the Wos Rivers.

“Easy walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Beautiful scenery, through the countryside, we managed it with 4 children in tow, we walked into Ubud, had breakfast them walked back as we are staying in the village. It does get hot if not cloudy but it's a very easy walk and well worth it!

“Brick road to the Emerald City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

The trail is really hidden from the main road but it could find it, you're in for a treat!

Unfortunately there's not enough information, nor you could google map it. Hence, I've drawn up a map so with the "walkthrough" you won't be constantly doubting you we're on the right path like I did.

When you're strolling west coming downhill from Jalanraya Ubud, look for a big stone signage: Ibah Suites, Restaurants & Spa. Look closer and the little signage pointing towards the hill is actually hidden underneath Ibah's menu! Follow the steep trail downhill, walk cross the bridge, it will lead you to a temple. You cannot enter its main yard as it is under renovation. Outside the temple towards the end of the trail there're steps taking you down to the river which is also worth a visit.

The ACTUAL campuhan trail, however, starts before the bridge on your right. The alternative trail will take you around via the side of the temple on your and roaring river on your right. Do be cautious of the condition of the trail due to the on-going construction, it get slippery after rain or simply obstructed by construction materials.

If you're able to walk around the temple side you will immediately see a stretch of grey brick road laid in front of you. Follow the (grey) brick road and you're on your way to the lush Emerald City!

Do:
Allow yourself half a day to explore the trail;
Wear comfortable clothing, a good pair of walking/running shoes;
Bring a bottle of water;
Observe the local weather come rain or shine because you will be fully exposed to it throughout the entire walk;
Use sunscreen, insect repellent and etc;
Pace yourself - the trail spans 3km (to the peak) and 7km (full circuit);
Bring camera - every scenery is wallpaper worthy!

“if you are going to do the entire walk: circuit, give yourself plenty of time as you walk back through lovely villages.”

just scenically beautiful, too much development happening .. buildings popping up like mushrooms, and spoiling the large vista's of rice fields.

“A great way to start your day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

The nearly 10km walk pass through some really beautiful scenery and quaint villages. Must bring a good camera to capture those beautiful scenes. The walk built up our appetite to a scrumptious breakie at the resort. One of the top things to do in Ubud to those who enjoy a good workout with a view!!!
