Owner description: The Campuhan Ridge Walk is arguably the best known Ubud trek and with good reason. The sparse crowds and the aesthetically rich vistas remind one of why people from around the world come to Bali. The trail starts at the historical origin of Ubud, the confluence (or Campuhan) of the Wos Rivers.

“Hot and exhausting but worth it!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Good track, uphill so quite tiring, but wonderful views. And the reward was finding Cafe Karsa at the top - great juices.

“A great walk”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

After enjoying several jam-packed days full of rafting, cooking classes and cycling, I was searching something to do in Ubud that wouldn't require forking out rupiahs. I found this walk recommended on TripAdvisor so one morning me and my boyfriend went for a stroll.

We started from the main street with Ubud market on our left hand side and we just kept walking straight outside of town. Walk until you see Ibah Spa on your right. Turn right and there will be a sign pointing you to the 'Walk to the Hill' or something like that. Just follow that signs and you will find the trail easily.

There are some shops and cafes on the way in case you get hungry/thirsty. We just brought our own water bottles and snacks so we didn't visit any of the cafes.

I don't recommend going in the middle of the day because there is no shade and it gets very hot. I would imagine early morning (5-6 am) to be the best time to go.

Overall it's a beautiful walk and an easy (and free!) way to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town for a few hours.

We went early morning and it was delightful before ths sun became too hot. Many locals walking their dogs or jogging. Lovely views over the rice paddies.

“a stroll into Bali”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

The full three hour + round trip will give you a wonderful peek into Balinese life - through villages, past family farms, dance centres and temples and chooks and dogs and kids going to school. all of it in a stunningly beautiful part of Bali. And of course you'll pass the hotel strip from the Campuhan bridge up to Senggiggi(?) turn-off road - past our favourite restaurant (Indus), hotel (Ananda) and spa (Bliss). All of this in what is really a stroll rather than a trek :)

“beautiful views”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Choose early morning for the walk. We walked about 4 kms, met friendly locals along the route, saw a wedding from distance, had coffee in a cafe/gallery in rice fields, and on the 4 km way back bought chilled water at another cafe/gallery.
