What an amazing experience we encountered at Villa Saraswati. the Lotus room was out of this world my only regret is that were not able to say longer. Beautifully decorated, excellent service and fantastic hosts what more could one ask for.

Room Tip: all the rooms are great I could not fault their accomodation at all.

From the moment you arrive in this beautiful, classy sanctuary you are greeted with warmth and a sense of "family" by the caring staff and owners Robyn and Dean. This group of people gently guide you through your days in Ubud, offering their expert tips on the restaurants, wine, areas to visit, art galleries, walks and people and places of interest. Their sound knowledge of the area and reassuring advice was a personal touch that as a newcomer to Ubud was paramount to me.
The villa itself offered a beautiful Balinese ambience, pristine with its open-air living space and lush surrounds. Gorgeous pool and outdoor area. Breakfast and food were of excellent quality as was the service. The shuttle service was very personalised and once again you felt very safe and secure in their hands. Everything was of high quality and nothing was too much trouble to organise.
Great for a group of friends or for first timers to Bali. You will be well looked after!! I highly recommend this quiet and peaceful sanctuary. Rose Family

Villa Saraswati is the most beautiful, quiet and peaceful place that you'll go and never want to leave.
Everyone was really friendly. The owners, Robyn & Dean are very nice and friendly as well. They would join us for breakfast and have a chat with us. They even suggested us to go eat at the Warong Kelapa and it was lovely. We ended up going back there twice.
Our room (the Lotus) was really comfy as well. We got an outdoor shower and also a tub. And the decoration add into it, it has a bit of that romantic feel to it and i'll have to say, if you're traveling together with your spouse, you'll love the romantic feeling you get in that room.
The only downside to our room is that while we were sleeping in the middle of the night, one of the light on the ceiling at the right hand corner fell off on it own. But that don't bother us at all.
There's no bad thing to say really. Everything was great there. The room is comfy, the breakfast was tasty, everyone was friendly and all i can say is that, we had a good time and we're looking forward to going back there.

We were on honeymoon in Bali and we were tremendously fortunate to chance upon this boutique villa. The staff were tremendously attentive and responsive. They were very friendly as well and took the effort to make the guests feel comfortable.
The owners of the villa (Dean and Robyn) were more like hosts. Providing great advice on how to spend time in Bali, where to eat and what to see, also, they provided great morning breakfast conversations. The quality of breakfast too was unexpected. For something complimentary, you would think average/mediocre breakfasts. But the breakfast was soooo good!
And the pool is fascinatingly beautiful!
The only regret we have in this place is we spent all our money in Bali and only wished we had more money to tip the wonderful staff.

Room Tip: I only stayed in the Swan room. That was very comfortable and good!

This peaceful, elegant but affordable villa is in a quiet area north of Ubud but only about 5- 10 minutes drive away and there's a free shuttle van three times a day to get you there. The last one back is at 4pm but a taxi back from Ubud shouldnt be be more than USD 3 if you bargain.

The villa is in modern Balinese style but furnished with elegant local and Javanese wooden furniture and overlooks, across a small river , one of the three village temples. On the second day there was a cremation ceremony and Robyn arranged for all the villa guests to attend.

There are seven rooms ( Robyn gave up her own room to a couple from Singapore who had their booking messed up by Agoda ) with bird names. Ours was the Swan and the first night we found the towels on our elegant four - poster bed ( with mosquito nets, althugh there are not many mosquitos ) folded into a swan shape. The whole atmospere is of laid back peace and so there is a minimum age of 17 , something I have no problem with as this inst really a kids place, more a couples or older singles place, and certainly not for the chunder - contest Kuta crowd. To keep in touch there is free wifi ( strong signal ) but many of the other guests, like us, just didnt want to move anywhere each day or do much.

Its worth saying that this is a bed and breakfast place and the breakfast ( western or Balinese ) is beautifully done and delicious. For dinner or lunch you can order out at reasonable prices from local restaurants and the small number of Balinese staff will help you if your Indonesian isnt good enough for this.

Bring a good book ( or your Kindle ), someone you love, and just lie back and enjoy this perfect place. You will never want to leave and you will make some wonderful friends round the poolside breakfast table, so I'll use this forum to also say hi to Faizah and Asywan from Singapore, Alex from Switzerland, and of course to thank Robyn for a wonderful stay.
