It would seem to be in the middle of nowhere upon arrival but amazingly close to Ubud via a world class path. We came with our 6 and 9 year old who were jetlagged to the hilt and even they happily made the trek into Ubud center and back daily. You can take a taxi, we did once, but the walk was fantastic.

And then there is the salt water infinity pool that looks over a jungle river gorge. Nice chairs to lounge on. Wifi that is reasonable.

Good breakfast with an amazing view and rocket fuel coffee. Comfy bedding, but very firm mattresses. AC that does the job. The floors are very very slippery when wet, so maybe avoid with a toddler as the rooms seems designed for a head injury.

They have room service delved from a Buddha Bali that has extremely good, fresh, healthy, well prepared meals, juices, smoothies and gluten free options.

Room Tip: They have a family room, which is a good option to getting 2 rooms.

Very good boutique hotel(ex Sunset Hill hotel -the taxi driver know it) ,good service ,good rooms(bungalows),salty pool´,amazing view,no restaurant, can order at night from Ubud for free delivery.Spa -they use a women who have a massage studio only 50 meters if you turn and walk to left and the prices a much more cheaper than to order massage in the hotel(in the hotel 150 000 IDR,in her massage studio 95 000 IDR .Taxi from the hotel to the Ubud is take about 15-20 min and cost around 60 -70 000 IDR in one direction(both about 120.000),but if you whant to walk the center of Ubud is just 1,5 km from the hotel ...just go out from Bliss hotel and turn to the right and keep street ahead -takes about 20-25 minutes walking. No free shuttle to the Ubud as they write in Booking.com ,the internet is not very good,no restaurant,5 days they don't change my sheets.Any way I am very happy with my choice to stay in this hotel !!!

Room Tip: all bungalows are the same ...maybe this close to the swimming pool is the best(don't know numbe...

A Quiet haven

We were looking for quiet after the big cities of the south.
The real Ubud is its temples and rice fields which are outside the main road.
The hotel is gorgeous with an infinity pool overlooking a jungle valley, lovely staff and only 7 well separated rooms (so quiet!)

Bungalows: upon arrival you are greeted with fresh fruit cocktails, a fruit basket and exceptionnal smells from the surrounding flowers. Rooms are spotless and big. Beds are wider than they are long (sleeps 3 people easy). Hot water good.
Staff: discreet and present. Manager Kevin very professional. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and fresh.
Facilities: good wifi in restaurant and pool. And what a pool!

Negative: no shuttle bus, but taxi is available (spent 350K for half a day with major sights) - should be 50K for single trip to Ubud. Driver Putu extremely nice, good history knowledge and english.
Spa not advertised though available.
No restaurant on site, but ordering delivery is easy.

Overall very positive and peaceful experience. As quiet and picturesque as it gets. Hidden jewel.

Took a friends recommendation to stay at the Sunset Hill but it wasn't quite as expected ....

We were greeted by the Manager who explained that the owners were away. He said that we could use the pool as we wished but not to disturb other guests. We were told that it was a ten min walk to Ubud, but having already read the earlier comments on trip advisor we knew that it wasn't the case.

The room was ok but a bit tired, but none the less was in an amazing position. We were told that if we needed a cab to simply ring the bell at 'reception' (an outside space) and someone would book it.

Having arrived early in the afternoon we left to explore Ubud. Returning later, we found the place deserted ie no guests and no staff apart from some builders who didn't speak any English.

They left after a while and assuming that someone would be around to call a taxi to take us to town for dinner we went for a swim. The pool was nice, but there were no towels available other than one towel from the room.

Returning to the room we found ants in the shower so cleared them out. There was a crack in the wall and they came back in. There was a fridge with nothing in it, so we needed to go back to the town for something to eat and drink. Going back to 'reception' we found that we were quite simply the only people in the entire place - staff and other guests were none existent. It was dark and as there were no phones in the rooms we were quite simply stranded in the dark in the middle of nowhere ! This in itself seemed quite ridiculous and frankly irresponsible.

We walked for a mile and found a kind French lady who ran a place up the road who cooked us some food.

Returning the place was still empty and returning to our room we found it over run with ants, flying and otherwise, on and in the bed !

After an uncomfortable night we went for breakfast. The builders and a maid had returned who served us an adequate breakfast, but on asking for milk for our coffee, were told that she hadn't any and hadn't been to the market !

We went back to town and returning in the late afternoon again found that the place was deserted. Marooned yet again, we found a small restaurant that was open close by and whilst this was adequate the better restaurants were in town.

We telephoned the owners wife to ask for some explanation but she was at the airport. Returning to room towels were still dirty from the day before (we had used them to clear up the ants) and the bugs were back !

The next morning having complained to the owners wife the Manager turned up and explained that they were having building works for a grand reopening ! When we asked why were they open at all then, he seemed rather confused and said he was only slowly getting used to European's mentality.

We had planned to stay for another night, but by this point we had had enough so left and found a very nice hotel on the other side of the valley with staff and guests in abundance !

The hotel has 5 or 6 rooms, we stayed 5 nights and we only saw one other couple here..
The pool is amazing, beautiful peaceful views. A place to have a good rest
But the place is in the middle of nowhere, to walk to ubud takes around 25 mins, the walk is nice during the day but at night you better take a cub (around 4 euro)
The breakfast is as big as you want, and the service is very good. For lunch or dinner there is only one restaurant 5 mins walk from the hotel
The worst thing is that at night you can find many ants by the toilet, but you are in the middle of the fields so i guess there is not much to do..
