“I wish I was there now.”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 for a stay in November 2013

The staff took wonderful care of us. My mother was recovering from a long illness. The staff catered to her needs. We opted to have dinner 2 times at the house. The ladies are the fabulous cooks. The house was clean and very comfortable.

the pools and grounds were immaculate.

“I want to be back there right now!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

Villa Tirta Indah - what a destination. The pictures don't do it justice. The pool is awesome, the Villa extremely clean and well laid out and how cool to have your own Temple. But the Staff were the highlight of the trip. Iluh -the Manageress and Putu the cook/cleaner (can't remember the second lady's name) were the sweetest most generous foreigners I have ever met. They made us feel like part of the family and took us into their hearts as we did them. The food was beyond amazing. I particularly enjoyed the Coconut-Banana Pancakes I had for breakfast, and their local rice dishes were better than most restaurants could make. Nothing was too much trouble, nothing was a problem, they were discreet, respectful and an absolute delight to talk with. Our driver Madi-arya (sp?) was so great, he went above and beyond to look after us and show us all the great places to go and was great also at helping us learn to the local language. We fell in love with pisang kecil (sp?) baby bananas deep fried that can be found in street side vendors - YUM. (and only bout $2 for a dozen)!! The Villa itself is set right beside rice paddies in the country about 15 mins out of Ubud. A short walk down the lane and you get the opportunity to see the locals tending their crops and going about their daily village life. Lots of photo spots! We were out and about most days either around the local area, Ubud or further afield - we went to Kuta one day and after only 2 hours were glad to escape back to the tranquility of our home away from home. The beds are massive and relatively comfortable, I'm a fussy bed person as have arthritis and like a soft bed - but I found it OK. I can't wait to visit there again or the other beautiful looking Villa D'Abing they also run. Thank you Iluh, Madi & Putu for making this a memorable holiday. :-)

“Fantastic”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We spent four nights in this beautiful villa. The villa is very clean and spacious, the rooms large and well furnished. The bathrooms are excellent. This villa is located about 20 minutes from Ubud in the rice paddy field area. The villa is on the main road so is a little noisy during the day however very peaceful at night. The infinity pool is fantastic, you can actually swim in this pool. Iluh, Putu and Kadek along with the maintenance/security man made us very welcome indeed. Putu and Kadek cooked us breakfast each morning and one night we stayed in for dinner whereby they cooked us a four course Balinese meal. The food was beautiful. Komang our driver was extremely helpful and friendly. The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and want for nothing. We would strongly recommend you try this villa.

“Just like a home, a good getaway!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My friends and I, a group of 6 stayed 3 nights at Villa Tirta Indah. The trip at Bali was made memorable because of the stay at the villa.

The team - Iluh (manager), the ladies who prepared meals and made sure the villa was kept spick and span clean, Arya the driver, the security guard and the property owner, Ketut, worked together to ensure that guests had a pleasant experience, just like that of your own home.

The villa was spacious, complete with a pool (able to do a decent swim in the pool, deep enough), a gazebo and a garden. Tucked away from the bustling central Ubud, the availability of the shuttle service (as an when you like) to and fro the villa and central Ubud made travelling easy. The padi fields are just round the corner.

I was pretty impressed that upon our arrival, Iluh handed us a basic mobile phone, stored with contacts of the team at the villa, such that contacting of the team can be made. During the stay, we used the phone to contact Arya for transfer services, Iluh for administrative matters, they were all accessible and prompt to respond. Iluh and Arya made good recommendations of where to go for spas, for purchase of local products.

There is no cable tv, however, the wide range of movies available for viewing were enough to keep us occupied. There is wifi in the villa, however, it is a pity that during our stay, we experienced inter-mitten wifi services, this despite that Iluh made attempts to contact the repairman to fix it. The fridge was packed with food and ingredients (and beer) that the ladies would use to make breakfasts for us every morning. And as our flight back home was early in the morning, we were unable to enjoy breakfast, hence, the ladies made arrangements to drop by the villa the previous night to cut fruits and prepared bread such that we could have a light breakfast before heading for the airport.

Overall, the experience at Villa Tirta Indah was great, it is a pity that the group had only 3 nights to spend in Bali, we would have stayed longer with the villa if we could. Highly recommended.

“The ideal place to relax and take in all that Ubud has to offer”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

The staff are this villa's best asset, they are attentive, polite and helpful, making your stay feel far more like a home away from home. Although the villa is quite far outside Ubud town, the drive is only about 10 minutes and a driver is provided for all journeys. This proved ideal for us since we had a 1 year old and needed reliable transportation. We also ate at the villa one night and the food was amongst the best we had during or stay in Bali. Some reviews have commented on the road noise but I don't think it was loud or frequent enough to complain about.

Only things that could be improved would be
1) Accept payment via paypal instead of international bank transfer
2) Wider selection for breakfast (and slightly larger portions)

“Beautiful villa, wonderful stay and great people”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We had an amazing five days in Ubud at Villa Tirta Indah, an experience we will remember for many years! Ketut and her wonderful staff made our stay so pleasant and welcoming. The villa is very beautiful, in a great rural setting, surrounded by lovely rice paddies, wonderful for afternoon strolls.

The villa's staff prepares excellent, home-cooked, authentic Balinese meals for guests in-house, using fresh ingredients from the garden. Our meals were delicious and prepared with care.

The private pool and upstairs terrace are wonderful places to relax and enjoy the gorgeous rural scenery. Arya, our driver, was punctual and made getting around Ubud and surrounding area easy and pleasant.

Ketut and her staff made our stay memorable. I would recommend her villa to any traveler looking for an authentic Balinese experience in a beautiful setting.

“The best of Bali”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

It was our first time in Bali, a trip that for months seemed would be equally unpredictable and exciting. I had heard from previous visitors that the island was one of those last remaining magical havens on Earth; a true paradise where people adventured to escape the stresses of life in the concrete jungles of the world, but nonetheless a place where only a certain type of person could truly connect with the soul of the island.

I was anxious, sometimes nervous at the prospects of crossing many oceans to find myself lost in the insecurities of the foreign and unknown. Over 30 years of my life have been spent exploring distant corners of the world and yet, somehow the anticipation of arriving in Bali still seemed like a feat of its own. Then the day came, and from that moment on, life has never been the same.

Villa Tirta Indah was where it all started, and quite frankly, where a piece of my heart & soul will always reside. I wish I had the words to express the magnificence of this sacred haven on the outskirts of Ubud. The people, the place, the experience -- it's everything that's beautiful about life. From the moment we arrived and to this very day, I feel like I've finally felt what true peace can be, and for anybody out there wondering where his can be found, look no further. Villa Tirta Indah, the staff, the village, it's the kind of place that will change your life in the most beautiful of ways.
