“Wonderful, welcoming service”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

We recently spent 4 days at this beautiful, tranquil little piece of Bali, with our 2 year old daughter. The service was wonderful, we were made to feel very welcome, even with an active little toddler in tow! The staff were truly wonderful with her. Shuttle bus service was great as was the breakfast but it does feel a little on the pricey side for Bali. We hired a pool villa - which was a little dark and gloomy for me (and the pool is actually a small plunge pool) but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff made this place a really pleasant place to stay. The rice paddy walk is worthwhile, too - wish we'd tried the yoga, too. Keep up the good work, guys!

We stayed here for 4 nights and had the most amazing time. The hotel staff are so friendly and will do anything to help. There is construction work behind the rooms etc but it is not a bother at all and the staff informed us straight away about it and said if at any point we feel disturbed to tell them and they can stop it and start it when more guests are out - couldn't believe the honesty and everything they offered. The rooms are beautiful, huge bed and the bathroom is perfect. Large shower and very large bath! The breakfast is amazing - sat upstairs in open air with calming music playing they serve firstly an offering of fruit or fresh fruit juice then you also get a basket of fresh warm croissants and breads with home made jams, and then an omelette or full english breakfast etc..this hotel has so many small added extras which really makes your stay special. The morning yoga, (although early at 7) is great, and their woman is lovely, she also does the morning trecks - all included in your stay! There is a shuttle every hour into Ubud which is great and we also used daily. Everything about this place is so relaxing and peaceful...would definitely stay again if I return to ubud. (And I've never stayed in the same hotel twice!)

I can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff. Particularly since their welcome and ongoing helpfulness is clearly genuine!

The rooms are lovely. Flower petals everywhere! Bed....bath...steps...

Room -we stayed in suite 805 - was good size. Marble bathroom. Huge bed. Nicely furnished in a local style. Mossie nets provided tho not sure needed ...the hotel fogs for mossies twice a day.

Food was good - value and quality.
The hotel is boutique. It is small so don't expect all the things you get with big chains...this is better!

Minor irritation is the construction work -building an extension to hotel? It is annoying as it breaks the peace and quiet you want from a spa hotel!

A compact resort about 15 mins away from Ubud, with an hourly shuttle service. There was major construction work underway in April right behind the rooms, which made it very noisy during the day. Not a place to go for r&r unless the construction work is finished, though I can imagine it would be peaceful once building work is completed. I had a suite room on the top floor which was better for privacy – the rooms below are easily looked into by anyone passing. My room was huge, with the biggest bed I have ever seen! Very nicely done out. Bathroom was also clean and spacious. Hotel pool is long enough for some lazy laps and there are some sunbeds to relax on, though not a lot of shade midday. Onsite restaurant is excellent and not too much more than eating at the places such as Casa Luna in town. Morning yoga was good and lovely way to start the day. Staff go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming – I was particularly impressed by Mr Nata who helped organise for me to move to a quieter sister hotel as I had gone to the hotel to recharge rather than use it as a base to do day trips.

Room Tip: I would recommend paying the extra for a suite room on the second floor as the bottom rooms can be l...

I loved this place and its people. One of the most comfortable stays I have ever had outside of home. Staff are courteous and fantastic. Loved every bit of my stay. The resort is situated next to a small village, and they have an excellent ecosystem that involves profit-sharing with the villagers.

I'm writing on my phone, so I'll just have to keep it nice and short before my fingers crap out. Here goes...

The bf and I decided to fly to Bali in the very last minute. We were previously in Jogja for a music festival and thought to ourselves: "Hey, why not go to Bali for two nights before returning to the cesspool that is Jakarta (we are both teachers living in Jakarta)."

So we booked our flight from Jogja to Bali with AirAsia and before we boarded, we did a quick TripAdvisor tinkering and found Sunia. We knew nothing about the hotel, let alone any hotel in the Ubud arra, and just went along with the positive reviews the hotel is getting.

We called and the receptionist gladly informed us that there's a room available for 1.8 million/night (including taxes and whatnot). Since it was a trip with the bf, I didn't mind splurging, and it was a two-night trip anyway. They would also send a shuttle to the airport to pick us up, but we wanted to rent a car instead and explore the Kuta area for a bit before checking in.

By the time we arrived in Bali, we rented a car plus a driver, and boy that was a smart idea. If I remember correctly a 12-hour rent costs about 450k (and we split the cost among us) depending on the make and model of the car. Public transportation in Bali is not extensive since most inhabitants own a motorbike to commute. You'll find a handful of taxis though, but since major attractions in Bali are far-reaching, I'd say go with rental. Or rent a motorbike if you feel adventurous!

Anyway, the hotel is a bit ways away from the center of Ubud. Thank the gods the hotel provides shuttle every hour to and fro, and the trip itself takes 15 minutes at most. The last shuttle from Ubud leaves at 10:15pm but that's fine because the city is dead anyway by 9:30pm.

Sooo... check in! The receptionists were very welcoming and treated us exceptionally well. They also upgraded us to a deluxe villa for whatever reason (I wasn't paying attention!). Our villa is perfect. We have our own hot pool, a nice tub and shower, a nice queen bed with drapes and honeymoon-y frills, etc. We also received a complimentary 15-minute massage, which we sadly didn't take advantage of due to time constraints in our travel.

Breakfast was also excellent. There are four sets to choose from and each set comes with a choice of drinks, appetizer, an entrée and a dessert. We always chose the Indonesian set just because. And the waiters/waitresses were just so damn welcoming and nice I just wanted to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming.

The receptionist also gave us various itineraries to choose from. The hotel itself is surrounded by paddy fields and you can take a nice morning walk/jog to breathe some of the freshest Balinese air and interact with the locals.

What else to talk about... anyway I gotta go. All in all this hotel is just amazing and I highly recommend it to all my friends and especially couples! Also the hotel is gay-friendly in case if anyone's wondering.
