We initially booked for two days but extended for an extra three nights. The rooms are excellent and the views over the rice fields are great. We had two big sliding doors that opened up to a balcony where we enjoyed breakfast each morning. There are three choices for the breakfast that was included with our booking. The pancake and fruit was my favourite. There was no television in our room, but this actually made our stay more peaceful and enjoyable.

It is located a little bit from the main part of Ubud but again this proved to be beneficial as the restaurants around us were a lot cheaper and in my eyes better quality (highly recommend the balicow and the Fly Cafe which are only around the corner.

The hotel offer a complimentary drive into Ubud and a taxi should cost you no more than 30,000 rupiah (3 Australian dollars).

Great place!
Very peaceful and serene.
Suitable for those who want to have rather quiet place to stay.
The breakfast was send to your room at your own convenience.
The balcony provide gorgeous view of the paddy fields and also the garden surrounding the compound.
The garden is well kept and very beautiful with lot of flowers.
The place a bit far from town.
Just be careful with the pool since half of it side is a bit deep.

Room Tip: The 1st floor with balcony give great view of the paddy field.

This hotel is very nice, staff is good. Lovely swimming pool facing to the rice field..
Perhaps, the management may consider to change local menu (Nasi Jinggo instead of Nasi Goreng) more Balinese and better taste..
Pay more attention (for Housekeeping/management) regarding the insects usually live in rattan furniture (in Bahasa we call 'kutu busuk') we found many in our room..
Overall, this hotel is recommended.. we love the interior and exterior, as well..

Room Tip: Room in front of sawah (rice field) is nice

We spent 2 nights in Bliss spa (booked fron Agoda.com). The location was great if you want to stay away from the city (took 5-10 minutes drive to Ubud center). It was small hotel with pool and rice field, I loved their breakfast which served at our room every morning ( you have to order and tell them what time you want to have your breakfast in the morning). We rent motorbike from hotel , unfortunately the price was over than motor bike rental shop and we could not rent bike if we not stay in their hotel.

Not much restaurants or attraction places around the hotel, however hotel have taxi to Ubud center 1 time per day and we have to take taxi to turn back to hotel by our self.

With this rate, I think we can find better hotel with better location and services more than bliss spa

Room Tip: Rent a car or motorbike to the city in order to take 1 time taxi service from hotel

After traveling extensively throughout Asia, this is our first time back to Bali in 15 years.
We went straight to Ubud and were very happy to have found the Bliss Hotel and Spa. It evoked all my memories of 'simple cottages above the rice fields', yet it offered the modern comforts of A/C and wifi which we didn't have (and needed) back then, but don't want to miss today.
Our room was very spacious, super clean, and fresh flowers were lovingly placed everywhere. The architecture is delightfully Balinese, yet modern and convenient. Depending on your point of view, you might be shocked or relieved to find that there is no TV. We liked it.
The pool is large and clean, with a deeper area for swimmers and a shallow part for those who just want to lounge.
The location is not quite in the center but we thought this was a good thing, as the center hotels do not come with views of the rice paddies and are not secluded. However, this means you will either have to walk 20 min into town or take a cab or rent a scooter ($5/day) which is what we did.
At the price we paid through Agoda we had no complaints, you can certainly find cheaper Hotels but most places at this level will be more expensive.
Improvements? Wi-fi signal strength varies strongly from room to room, so make sure to check it when checking in ...
(management should invest in a few more wifi-routers throughout the premises, to eliminate this issue)
And IMO the food menu choices could also be expanded, currently only a 'light menu' is on offer.

Room Tip: superior rooms are worth the extra money.

I stayed for almost two weeks, so I tend to agree more with the negative reviews. On the surface, the hotel seems lovely. The longer you stay, the more you really see.

During my stay, I spoke with other travelers who got a much better room rate because they booked with Agoda. Surprisingly, Bliss actually charges more if you just show up. The poor management just doesn't get it.
I had a really hard time negotiating a better rate as I decided to stay longer in Ubud.

Ah, the amenities...

The location is really too far to walk to town. The spa costs TWICE as much as Puri, which is a five minute walk down the street. Bliss spa is dingy and dark.

I got an ear infection from the swimming pool and had to get medical care from Ubud clinic. Not once in two weeks did I ever see anyone check the PH balance if the pool. I heard several travelers discussing how their swimsuits were turning green from the water.

Some of the women treated the cats horribly. I took a starving cat from Bliss Spa to Villakittybali (please make a donation, if you can). They had to put him down. He was too far gone.

As with many places in Bali, the staff is all smiles. How nice are people really when they do not care that you have an infection because of their neglect and abuse animals?

I know the poor treatment of animals is widespread, but this place took it to the extreme. After reading reviews of other home stays, I would advise anyone to book a room with people who truly want you to be happy during your stay, rather than trying to get every penny they can from you.

All that glitters is not gold.

Bliss was the first place we stayed upon arrival in Bali. It is family owned and run which is always a plus. The first thing you see is the perfectly manicured property. Beautiful gardens and statues surrounded by rice fields. The front desk has a small coy pond wrapped around it. All of the staff was attentive and thorough. The morning breakfast was very nice and always on time. Our room was immaculate, and looked as if the construction of it had just been completed (Room 11). The spa was the best we encountered over the course of a 3 week trip. I highly recommend the female massage therapist named Wayan. The property is about 1km from Ubud center which I liked because you don't have all the traffic and honking. The Hotel offers free shuttle to the town center but then you have to catch a taxi back. This is no problem at all because it is only $3 US for a taxi. There driver Wayan is also a great guy and will take you on any day tour you want. Eat at Naughty Nurris down the street, best BBQ and Margarita in Ubud. I have worked in many nice Hotels and think this place is well priced and well run. Thank you again to all the staff.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 11, and our friend in room 10. Both rooms are great.
