“Great Hidden Place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2012

This is the first time I have stayed at the Kertiyasa Bungalows. I stayed for 27 days.
I found the rooms very roomy and clean. The airconditioner worked well.
I found that not having a phone in the room was excellant and I found that I did not miss it at all.
The Wifi worked extremly well. The room did not have Television. A friend in Bali lent me a Television and I was able to use the plug in the room. I found that I was able to get Cable Television.
The staff were fantastic and could not do enough to help you. There is a shuttle going into Ubud 3 times a day. If outside the times there are taxis that take about 10 minmutes to get to Bunglaows and cost 40,000 rp.
If you want to walk into Ubud you can easily walk via Monkey Forrest.

Room Tip: Pay once only to go via monkey Forrest and keep the ticket. You then do not have to pay again whilst...

We did not stay at the bungalows on our recent trip to Bali (we stayed down the road) but we did eat here a number of times. The food was delicious. My husband and I had wonderful Indonesian food while our son had the chicken nuggets and they were lovely -better than I can cook!!! The staff were so wonderful and welcoming, even prepared our dinner as take away one evening when I was feeling unwell. The prices are so reasonable. You would rarely find food this good in Sydney at these prices. Make sure you have dinner here if you have children and bring a torch so they can go frog hunting in the gardens!! Wish there was a place like this in Sydney, I'd never cook!!!

We arrived late at Denpassar airport and our pick up (arranged by Kartiyasa) was there …

Arrived around 10 :00 pm in Ubud and the staff was still waiting for us to warmly welcome us (welcome drinks) and so we could have diner …

Very nice garden view from the restaurant, which is also on the street (but very few cars go through), which makes it a very quiet place …

The garden is very well maintained and the pool is a big plus, in order to relax after a day of walking or biking in Ubud or surroundings …

Monkey Forest is just nearby as well as Ubud downtown, through the Monkey forest path …

The rooms are very spacious as well as the bathroom and the big balcony is a big « plus » for the view and to enjoy a morning coffee while the sun is coming up as well as a nice drink with the sunset …

The only problem we encountered was the absence of hot water in the shower, but which wasn’t a real problem, since you need more cool showers than hot ones …

For those who need to stay connected, Internet is available (wireless) all other the resort and as well in the rooms at a good speed …

The staff of this place makes a big difference … Always smiling, very helpful and even took us to a location by motorbike we needed to visit the last morning, since we had little time left …

We will surely come back here if we decide to visit Ubud again …

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view on the garden ...

I haven't stayed at the bungalows but a group of 14 of us just stopped in for lunch mid afternoon today and boy were so glad we did. Service was pleasant and the food divine. Everyone was pleased with their meals - even our 4 little ones. It all looked amazing and was the best meal we have had so far in Bali. If you're in Ubud then make sure you visit here! We will certainly be going back before we leave!

This hotel has been recently refurbished. I have stayed in many hotels in Ubud and this one rates with the best of them. Great location, same road as the Alam properties. Staff can't do enough for you - always trying to anticipate your needs. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. Air con works well. We had an upstairs room with spa. Room was big, huge bed, TV (which we never used) and fridge. Huge bathroom. Only downside was poor water pressure. Very relaxing sitting out on the spacious balcony looking out over the beautiful grounds.Swimming pool is lovely and inviting. Free transport to Ubud - although its only a short walk through the monkey forest to reach the action. You only need to buy one ticket and just show each time and its okay. The hotel restaurant has excellent food. Breakfast is substantial - you have a choice of American, Continental or Indonesian. Meals are a good price and we were very happy with the food - try the yummy Caesar Salad. There is also a small friendly warung directly over the road that sells nice cold Bintang and cheap food. Overall I would definately stay here again and can highly recomend it.

I stayed here for 5 nights in December and I have to say the start of my stay I was a bit worried. It was a family room. Unfortunately the Air-conditioning did not work and the sink pipe came out when I used. I was quite upset as I have never had a problem with any Hotel or Villa in Bali before. A quick trip to reception and the lady had a look at the room before calling the manager.
The manager ( Dek ) came and organised another room straight away, which was not as large, but didn't bother me as all I wanted was a functioning air-conditioner for at night,as well as a working bathroom.
There has been quite a bit of work at these Villas lately, and my new room looked like it had been refurbished. My only complaints were that there was no curtains on the small high windows of my room, and there was no towel racks in the bathroom.
Apart from that the air-con was icy cold, the bed super comfy and the bathroom clean and tidy.
I was most impressed too with the restaurant, the prices were extremely reasonable, even by Bali standards. I never paid more than 60000 rp for a meal and/ or drink. The quality was excellent and the staff very helpful.
As a bonus for my inconvenience of changing my room, my complimentary massage was extended from 1 hour to 2. I also received a free dinner as part of my booking stay, and the manager also gave me free transport to the airport on the way home, as well as a late checkout, as my flight was late in the evening and I hadn't paid for an extra night.
The hotel itself is on the small village on the other side of the Monkey Forrest.
The forest is only a 5 minute walk, and then you can either walk through the Forrest or walk around on the path to get to Monkey Forrest Rd and Ubud.
So it's a good location, but because the road it's on is a dead end- it finishes at the Forrest, then it is very quiet at night, heck even by day it's a lot quieter than the other main roads in Ubud.
A taxi service is also included as part of the Hotel, for drop off or pick up, so if you don't feel like walking through the Forrest at night ( take a torch, it's dark! ) then just call the hotel, and they will pick you up.
All in all, it was very quiet at night, I slept very well and I cannot fault my stay here.
Thank you!

Room Tip: I was in an upstairs room, they will probably be quieter than downstairs
