Absolutely loved it!
This place is just perfect. We stayed at the beautifull villa n°6 for 3 nights. Breakfasts are really good with a nice balinese touch. The lady serving the breakfast is just too nice and she adds a personal touch on top!
Location is perfect! Almost hard to believe to be so close to the crowdy Ubud center and yet enjoying the peace and quite of the rice paddies. And frog sounds at night when you walk back! You can go for a little (unguided) walk around the hotel.
If we have to say something that could be improved it is the pick up service. They forgot to mention that it is not available after 10 PM unless you ordered before that time point. Also they should create a system to easily worn when you would like to be picked up, should be simple with all the smartphones and app's of nowadays.
At the end of our tour through Bali and Lombok, Samara villas was the best breakfast, most relaxing and a place we would definitely want to return to (as soon as possible :-))!
Go there! You will not regret!

Room Tip: villa 6 is the most remote but I can not imagine other villas would not be as nice being remote mea...

I had the best honeymoon ever, very peaceful green small compound with little cute clean villas. I liked the place so much, away from pollution and traffic. Its about 600m. off the main road into the green fields. Perfect for relaxation and nature enjoyment.

We loved our stay here. We were picked up on the airport and about after one hour drive we arrived. You can not reach the hotel by car so the last part is done by scooter. The bungalows are wonderful situated in the middle of the rice fields. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The bungalow is wonderful. Very clean, with a veranda with view on the rice fields. The hotel also organize roundtrips. We did a roundtrip of one day and it was great. Our driver Ray was so nice. He was a very good guide. The breakfast was very good. From the hotel to the center of Ubud is 10 min. The hotel staff brings you with a scooter to the center whenever you want. They also pick you up. We stayed several times in Ubud in other hotels but this hotel is one of our favorites. It's a hidden paradise.

Room Tip: Reserve in advance. The hotel is very quickly fully booked.

If you are looking for an hotel very close to the center but you want to sleep inside the wonderful rice field of Ubud, this is the place for you!
You can walk through the nature or visit all the little streets of Ubud village discovering the real Bali.
All the buildings of the hotel are new, beautiful and clean; the staff is very Kind and helpful, first of all the owners Stefano and his wife Yudi…very nice people!
We tried the restaurant only for the breakfast and it was good, but if you want to eat a very good Italian food, you have to try “Dolce Arancia”: the delicious restaurant that Yudi and Stefano manage in the center of Ubud.

we really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the samara - it is a small boutique hotel with great attention for the customers and a beautiful location 15 minutes from ubud... the rooms are nice and elegant. there is a great attention for details.. the only comment is that the nespresso is charged. it would have been in line with the standard of this hotel to offer a good coffee with the breakfast. saying that i will highly recommend this hotel

We stayed four nights here and were so sad to leave, not because of the town but because the Samara Villas were a little oasis in what has become the very crowded, cynical tourist machine that is Ubud.

From the moment Rai picked us up from the airport for the 80 minute transfer we knew the service at the hotel would be wonderful, and we were not disappointed. Everyone did their utmost to make the stay as perfect as possible, including afternoon tea around the pool, and a stunning bouquet of flowers for our wedding anniversary. The room was stylish and ultra comfortable and both the breakfast and Indonesian food on offer were excellent.

We organised a full day out with Rai as our driver/guide, which was a fascinating opportunity to vist parts of Bali that were new to us. The pool area was lovely, but it was also the location in the rice paddies that set this place apart because staying in the chaos of the town itself would have been no holiday. That said, it was clear that more and more properties, some in keeping with the surroundings and some sadly which were not, were being built around the Samara and I truly hope this fantastic property will not be affected, as it deserves every success.

A final thank you must go out to the owner, Yudi, who helped with our onward transport to the Gili Islands and was superb in sorting out the small glitches, which could have caused issues with our onward travel.

Room Tip: Rooms 5 and 6 would be slightly more private.
