“Where's the beans? AKA The Bean Counters”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

I quite liked this place but was a little put off when I ordered an English Breakfast and there were 8 baked beans on my plate...

I did mention it to the waitress, who brought the manager who said that this was what the owner told them to put on the plate (turned into quite a conversation). I suggested he chat again with the owner and then check out a few other English Breakfasts in Ubud to see how many beans the competition put on their plates.

The manager and staff seemed to get it so hopefully they've fixed this little glitch.

Even so, it is quite a pleasant place.

“Cheap and Cheerful”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Stopped for a quick lunch here. Mint leaves, lime and ginger drink on a very hot day was wonderful 20,000rp. Club sandwich 23,000rp. with fries (which were hand cut and not frozen) was excellent. Cap Cay 27,500rp great flavour. Fresh ingredients, good service, great little place for lunch. Not air conditioned, but fan cooled. Upstairs area for smokers. Clean bathrooms.

“Avoid the coffees.food is just ok.”
Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

Stopped here for a coffee as they serves illy coffee. Thought the cappuccino would be decent but the coffee came watery, no milk at all.

Ordered some snacks and it was ok.

Overall, service and place is good, but coffee sucks.

“Nice restaurant with friendly staff”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

I have been staying in Ubud for 23 days now and this was the first place I found with a high chair. For me this is a plus as I am traveling with my 1yo and heaving her eat on my lap is not as easy anymore :-)
The staff is very pleasant and the service fast and efficient.
The food is tasty and is nice to see that this is a restaurant that looks onto minimizing the impact of plastic in Bali, as well as supporting local economy.
The other thing that appealed to me was the fact that they have separate zones for smoking and non smoking customers.

“This place has it going on!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

We loved everything about the place - retro decor, fresh kalapas (cocounts), healthy & delicious food and and down to earth service. We want back 3 times and will be back next time for sure.
