“A nice family place to stay while in Ubud”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

I stayed here for 3 weeks and had a really nice time. Ayu, the wife of Ben is such a sweet and caring lady and cooks some good and authentic food. The rooms are in the back of the families "compound" which means there are numerous parts of the family living here. Aunts/Uncles grandparents.. etc. Each has their own little area. The family temple is also on the premises right in front. It's a little removed by the busyness of central Ubud but a quick walk/scooter ride away which is a great balance. The rooms are pretty basic but comfortable and always clean. Ben can arrange tours as well if needed. While it doesn't have the amenities of many other places, my first day here they set up a hammock for me and no one else I talked to stayin in Ubud had a room with a hammock. It's simple but super nice. You can meet friends who have pools at their places and use it for free with them, but where can you relax in a hammock on your porch listening to the sounds of bali?

Great value for little money. Perfect location in quiet street only 5 minutes walk from Ubud centre. At the back of the homestay are stunning rice fields where you can do beautiful walks or just take a left with your motorcycle and you will experience the most beautiful views!

The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Big windows and a very cute terrace were you get your generous breakfast of delicious fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice and Balinese pancake with coconut rasp and banana...mmmm....

Ben speaks very good English and is very helpful. The staff always serves you with a kind smile so... just notting really to complain about :-)

Room Tip: what I see from here is that all rooms are nice, spacious and have a very nice terrace.

I was in Bali for 2 months living in many different places but this was my favorite. i loved the energy of the family that lived here on this huge property near the center of Ubud. The simple sign out front does not reveal the magic that lies beyond. After Grandma kindly greeted me i was shown to my room and i loved it - my own free standing bungalow with bathroom for $15 US and I could walk downtown without having to park my motorbike. Walk to the market, rice fields, internet and restaurants with yummy food. The Balinese couple who run it are full of tips, tours, and smiles. They made me feel at home during the two weeks I stayed there. And all this including a fresh home made breakfast delivered to your door. They would bring mine at 7AM as i get up early to do yoga and meditate. And what a stunning jewel of a place to do it in. Flowers, lawns, palms, beauty everywhere you look! The Balinese coffee was delicious and so was everything she made for breakfast. i will go back there again, i stayed there two times and now that i think of it i want to get on a plane now and fly there.

Room Tip: I liked the upstairs rooms the best
