Not just do they succeed providing consistent, high-quality and high end and innovative (no boring here!) food at dinner and lunchtime; the cocktails, appetizers and main usually take some cue, and sometimes complete influence from the local culture or cuisine. A great setting - over the river - and with impeccable service, this is one 'hotel restaurant' you MUST actually go to and forego going into town at least once or twice. It's fun, its good!

We had dinner there last night.... ambience was really nice with the best service. Food was good but a bit on the high side. Anyway, a well worth experience.... definitely recommended.

This was by far and away the best private dining experience we have EVER had. I organised this for my husband for our first wedding anniversary and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip. We were not staying at The Samaya (although I wish we did!), however from the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we were dropped home we were treated like stars. The food was amazing and the setting one of the most beautiful you can ever imagine. Such a very special night, I can't recommend this highly enough to anyone looking for a romantic, beautiful dinner. WOW WOW WOW! Thank you The Samaya!

The restaurant is located at about 3 km from the center of Ubud in a big and luxurious resort. We reached the restaurant by taxi and it took us around 10 minutes drive. Once there, you get picked up by a golf cart which takes you to the restaurant down by the river. The location has a great atmosphere, surrounded by nature, the sounds of the river and soft light of torches.

It is ideal for a romantic dinner but still we felt quite "isolated" after being used to the crowd of ubud and indonesia in general, so if you are looking a lively mood this isn't the right place for you.

The cuisine is very good, it merges indonesian style recipes with modern and European flavors, creating new and interesting tasting experiences. The service is simply faultless.

Prices are high, comparable to those of upper-class restaurants in Europe
