“100 candles private dinner at Swept Away”

This was by far and away the best private dining experience we have EVER had. I organised this for my husband for our first wedding anniversary and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip. We were not staying at The Samaya (although I wish we did!), however from the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we were dropped home we were treated like stars. The food was amazing and the setting one of the most beautiful you can ever imagine. Such a very special night, I can't recommend this highly enough to anyone looking for a romantic, beautiful dinner. WOW WOW WOW! Thank you The Samaya!

“A Romantic Dinner”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

The restaurant is located at about 3 km from the center of Ubud in a big and luxurious resort. We reached the restaurant by taxi and it took us around 10 minutes drive. Once there, you get picked up by a golf cart which takes you to the restaurant down by the river. The location has a great atmosphere, surrounded by nature, the sounds of the river and soft light of torches.

It is ideal for a romantic dinner but still we felt quite "isolated" after being used to the crowd of ubud and indonesia in general, so if you are looking a lively mood this isn't the right place for you.

The cuisine is very good, it merges indonesian style recipes with modern and European flavors, creating new and interesting tasting experiences. The service is simply faultless.

Prices are high, comparable to those of upper-class restaurants in Europe

Incredible restaurant. From the setting to the menu to the staff Swept away is worth a visit even if not staying a the Samaya. We were impressed before we even tasted the food and then when we did, we were just about speechless. Sitting by a rushing river by candlelight, every drink and dish was superb.

“Five Star Food and Service”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

All of the meals served at Swept away were first class and would not be out of place in any 5 star restaurant in any country around the world. My husband and I have dined in some wonderful top class restaurants and the food served at swept away was as good if not better.

All of the staff make you feel as though you are the only customer in the place and any request is met with a positive reply.

“another awesome location in ubud”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

this restaurant is located in a awesome location right downhill on the riverside, its located within resort of luxury villa which seemed to have villas scattered in the rainforest on the hillside.
it was a little hard to find at first (maybe only for me :) ) but well worth the effort. when you get there you are greated by friendly staff at the resort reception and they take you downhill to the restaurant on a little gold cart type of vehicle, once again greated by very friendly staff on arrival to the riverside restaurant which has stunning views and really good food ( a little more expensive that other really good restaurant I have visited in ubud but I guess the extra charge is due to the exceptionnal location and the fact that it is located within a high end resort)
also a very romantic place for couples and despite being a little more expensive I would highly recommend it
