“Stunning setting, amazing food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

We ate twice at Swept Away during our 3 day stay. First night was a seafood bbq, 2nd a la carte. We could not fault the food, service or setting!!! The cocktails were amazing, as were the mocktails for the kids. We would have loved to have done a cooking class here but ran out of time!!! A truly top class restaurant and chef!!!

“We were swept away by the sheer physical beauty of the location and the whole experience was enthralling from start to finish !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Well it's hard not to be captivated by the location of this beautiful restaurant , set literally on the edge of a river . The service was professional yet warm and friendly , a perfect balance . An extensive cocktail and wine list followed by a mainly French /Italian menu with Indonesian Balinesian favourites ; I have to say the 3 times we ate there during our stay were some of the best meals we've ever eaten . The whole experience was simply divine . We walked the 5 minutes back to our villa hand in hand feeling like the king and queen of England ! If you're staying at the Samaya or even anywhere in Ubud you have to visit Swept Away :-) its like eating at one of the best places in Melb Syd Paris or Italy with the most exquisite view and none of the attitude !

“Restaurant in a River of Dreams”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

The Restaurant is located stunningly with a wooden seating deck overlooking the river. It is a perfect setting.
We loved the setting as well as the quality and presentation of the food
Again it was the wonderful personalised service that won us over
At night when we ordered dishes off the menu , the chef was very accomodating
We stayed at the hotel and the Golf carts to and fro the restaurants were well arranged with no wiating time and no inconvinience
The restaurant was romantic and peaceful and calming to the senses
The only problem was that there are mosquitoes (which the staff give you eco mosquito repellant which was quite effective)

“Overpriced and not worth it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Yes the location is beautifull and it is fun to go down to the restaurant in à golf car (though a very noisy one - I pity the guests of the hotel). Cocktails are rather watery. Food is okay but no more. Everything is really overpriced (100.000 rupiah for a bottle of water!!). I don't mind paying much if what you get is exceptionnal but that is not the case. So go there to have tea and enjoy the view but don't stay there to eat!

“Great Resturant - Amazing Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

We ate at this restaurant because we were staying at the hotel.
It proved to be one of our favourites. We sat on the balcony overlooking the river below. Very romantic.
We both chose the local menu and it was great.
Highly recommended.
