My partner and I recently enjoyed a kid free 11 nights at Bali Rich. Our room was beautiful, the gardens were stunning, sitting quietly by the pool was heaven and the view from the restaurant was gorgeous. But what really made our stay so enjoyable were the beautiful staff.
I had a cooking lesson which was four hours long! The chef, and his assistants were amazing - I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend the experience - Make sure you pay the $10 extra and go to the traditional markets - such a cultural experience.

I really want to say thank you to Reddy, Tiari, Putu and Madi for your outstanding service - you guys were awesome, and very much a part of our Bali memories.

The bathroom did have a faint smell - I think because it is so humid all the time, but was stunning otherwise.

The little extras, like having our bed turned down after a big day out, were lovely.

The meals in the restaurant were reasonably priced we thought. Breakfast was massive!!! Room service was a great option if we wanted quiet.

We'd like to encourage management to lower the price of spa treatments on site. Because there are so many great spas in Ubud, we didn't have a massage at the hotel - they were too dear (although still cheapish compared to Australia!).

Thank you for a wonderful experience - we'll be back :)

Room Tip: The whole resort is set out well and very quiet. There are only about 17 rooms in total - so it is a...

Was staying for 2 nights in this property, in the one bed room villa & here is my reviews:

a. Bedding: mattress is ok however when we went in to villa's room the room was not clean enough (the smell of damp)
b. Bathroom: bathroom's amenities is adequate
c. Room Service: the food that they served is good but it takes a quite time to reach to our villa
d. Front Line Staff: FDA, F & B Attendant ( room service & restaurant) & H/K Attendant are friendly & knows what they do (product knowledge)

If you love nature, this place is for you. Don't expect to go wild at this villa. It's just a place to for you and your spouse or your family to relax and have some quality time together. The grounds were very good. At night the temperature can drop to maybe around 20 degrees. We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and I told them I love flowers. It was mind blowing when we entered the villa. The bed was decorated with flowers and the bath tub were filled with red and pink flower petals. So romantic. I just couldn't stop giggling till now. We stayed 1 night at at bali rich seminyak and 2 nights at bali rich Ubud. To our surprise both our villa were decorated with flower petals and the management gave us a 2 cakes. The restaurant don't provide much variety but it was ok for us... if you really want to eat you can go to the town and fill your tummy and its not too far away.
Overall, our stay was magical for us. Definitely we will return.

Room Tip: We stayed in 2 bedroom villa and it was perfect for us. Our villa was called "Lely 202". F...

We stayed at Bali Rich Villas from the Thursday 06/06/2013 to Sunday 09/06/2013. We wrote an email to the Management, prior to submitting this review in order to give them an opportunity to respond.

Our booking was made using an online discount coupon.

Overall, our stay was uncomfortable and certain areas of service were unacceptable.

We stayed in Villa 109. Although we would have liked to, we did not use the kitchen facilities during our stay and opted to have our breakfast in the restaurant each morning. The kitchen bench was covered in dust when we arrived and there was evidence of small animal droppings on the bench top near the sink.
We took into consideration that it is an open plan kitchen and subject to the elements. However, during our 3 night stay, the kitchen was never once cleaned or dusted.

The plunge pool was small and cold, it was not worth our time using it. The pool towels left out for us were stained, and on the second day another animal dropping appeared on one of the towels. Even then, the cleaners did not remove the dropping or the towel.

The bedding had a foul odor, like damp, dirty water. Again, they were stained. We noticed the same stain from when we arrived was there on our last night, so we could tell that the sheets hadn’t been cleaned.

The bathroom, whilst spacious, smelt like stale and mould, so much so, we had to keep the bathroom door closed from the bedroom to contain the overwhelming smell.
The shower screen was built up with scum. Although it looked nice, the drains surrounded by river pebbles were not practical and do not allow the water to drain properly, which we assume is what causes the smell.
The toiletries were not appealing as the bottles were faded and they looked pre-used, even though they were full.

Again, whilst the bathtub looked nice, the drain was mouldy and rusty.

The floor mats were folded nicely, but when unfolded, they had dirty black marks on them. Same with the shower towels. Most frustratingly, our hand towels were taken away after the first night and never replaced for the rest of our stay.

At the time, we did not make a complaint to housekeeping as it did not seem appropriate to cause a fuss. We also assumed that housekeeping services would be of a basic standard and should not require a complaint to offer such services.

One exception to our overall experience was the complimentary painting class offered by I Made Seken. He was friendly, professional, polite and an asset to their establishment. Further, all the staff we met at the restaurant, the spa, the front desk and the drivers were very friendly and helpful.

The villa itself is located 10-15 min from the main town. There are no points of interest within walking distance, so the complimentary shuttle buses are necessary. If you require transport outside of these hours, you will need to hire a driver (approx. 50K rph). Alternatively, scooters can be hired for 50K rph per day. The grounds are beautiful and set amongst the forest landscape. The pool area was well kept and overlooking the valley. There is a fairly good range of options for breakfast. Access to wifi was good, which is fortunate as the television only had one channel in English (Discovery) which was dubbed over in Indonesian.

We received an email response within 2 business days thanking us for our kind review and ensuring that they have a standard operating procedure in which their staff are refreshed every 3 months. They intend on having the negative aspects rectified in the coming days. Similar reviews were posted in late 2012 by fellow Trip Advisor reviewers, but we did not see any improvements on their experience during our stay.

We feel that for the price advertised, (even with the online discount) it is poor value for money.
We are genuinely surprised at the high ranking on Trip Adviser and booked it on this basis.
The management photos posted on Trip Advisor and their website are misleading and in the future we will heed the negative reviews before booking again.

The establishment has plenty of potential, but it is unreasonable to charge the rates that they do for the lack of basic service. You cannot get by solely on a beautiful setting and large rooms without a good standard of cleanliness. Whilst we can accept certain elements, small pool, mosquitoes, noisy air-conditioning, etc – hygiene and cleanliness is one thing that should be considered a priority for guests.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Villa 109, as this would make the second negative review specific to this room.

I am staying here at the moment and was amazed that anyone could complain about here. I have travelled to many places and I read the reviews about here before I came and was a bit worried about some of the negative comments but now that I am here I wonder what would ever make these people happy!!
This is a wonderful place.I have yet to be bothered by a mosquito, the mould on the walls is outside on the courtyard walls and is part of the natural greenery,I have yet to hear a rooster crow and wake me up in the morning and would not care if I did as this is Bali at its purest.OK wi fi can be little erratic at times but if you ask they come and fix straight away.
I cannot find anything to complain about here, it is beautiful, the rooms are huge and extremely well equipped with everything you could want, bug spray, masses of towels and toiletries, robes, slippers, hairdryers,TV, beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, plunge pool bigger than I expected and the public pool is beautiful. Staff are warm, friendly and as soon as you ask for anything it is there for you. The restaurant is beautiful and looks over the jungle and rice paddies and the food is not expensive, this is a place where you can truly relax and enjoy the real beauty and peace of Bali. I am a single woman travelling alone and wanted a place where I could feel at home and completely relax and feel spoiled, I found it here.
If you told me that I had to complain about something the only thing I would say is that the pillows could be a bit more comfortable and as the pool is right next to the restaurant it would be nice for the staff to come and offer drinks by the pool instead of having to go over and order but if that is all that I could find then its not too bad and I am pretty fussy. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a completely relaxing holiday in a beautiful and tranquil environment where every wish is catered for.

Had "Group On" deal for this attractive modern resort not far from Ubud's best restaurants in quiet village of Kedewatan.
Our 1br, villa with splashpool, very private, self contained with full kitchen facilities, stone bathtub with separate shower and twin basin bathroom.
Spacious bedroom with modern T.V/dvd player
Good scenic restaurant with view over ravine and ricefields in distance. Daily specials.
Nice easy walks through local villages through rice fields.Do it yourself as our guide no information and only aim seemed to be to finish as quickly as possible. All other staff friendly and helpfull and good shuttle service.
Lovely gardens,good spa,nice main pool.
Great value stay with extras from deal especially painting class with the delightful Made Seken.
warning.. If you see a furry ,colourful catipillar which can fall from surrounding trees dont touch ,you will itch for days.(NOT just at this resort)
