“Absolutely fantastic - Better than we expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

After reading the reviews on TA I knew we had to try it out. We made a booking the day before so we could order the Smoke Duck Feast in advance.

We were warmly greeted by Putu and her husband Nyoman and felt the magic of this place. It was like I was a guest in someone home rather than a restaurant.

Then our feast began arriving at the table ,traditional Balinese food at it's best, the food just kept coming and coming. Smoked duck that just fell off the bone, a campur of sates, grilled chicken and prawns, a Tofu curry, two types of vegetable dishes and a refreshing salad.
I thought we could never finish this lot but Putu encourage us to eat slowly and as we talked and laughed we ended up demolishing all of it . Putu then wanted to give us desert each but decided to share just the one.

If you are in Ubud this place is a must......Jean Sajan

“Fantastic gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Everything was top notch. I found myself just ordering item after item and nothing disappointed. Putu has this sauce for one of her chicken dishes that I can't get off my mind!

Nice side effect of being such a low key establishment is that it also brings in other patrons like-minded. Met some wonderful Germans I ended up chatting with for a long while who were "regulars" of the place.

“Lives up to expectation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

We came to Putu's tonight because we have read all the positive reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed.

As a group of 4 including 3 vegetarians we found the menu gave us great choice and the quality of the food is fantastic. One of the nicest things we found was that the time it took the food to arrive was generally the time it took to cook it, this meant (I presume) that everything was cooked to order. The food was fresh, tasty and with a high quality of ingredients.

The welcome and general service we received from Putu's husband (sorry didnt get his name!) and Putu was very warm. The place is small and intimate (5 tables / 20 people max) which was great for us but might not be if you prefer the feel of a larger restaurant.

Overall we loved it, this was the last night of a 4 day trip to Ubud and we were all in agreement that it was the best place that we had been to so far.

“Cozy place with simple, yummy food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

We discovered this little place (with 4 tables!) thanks to TripAdvisor. Food is freshly made and served. The ayam with Putu's special sauce is a must have as is the banana pancake. The latter the best of the 3 that we had in Bali. Great place to book for a personal celebration like a birthday or anniversay with a few friends. Rustic ambience. Would recommend a visit.

“Excellent little warung!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

This is a small, but extremely charming place with traditional very tasty Balinese food! Very cheap too :) The owner and host of this place, Putu, is around most of the time, finding time to talk to all guests. Ask him anything you want to learn about Bali, its people and their culture - he'll be happy to share!
