We visited Bidadari in May. After the hustle and bustle of other parts of Bali, we chose Ubud for something different. And indeed it was. Set in a lovely jungle area, a little piece of heaven became ours. You must see it to believe it. One night, have dinner in your villa, and get the two wonderful hotel musicians,Dodik and Arik,(who also pose as very good waiters!) to play guitar for you. A love song is the same in any language. An amazing experience. Would go back tomorrow if we could. Many Thanks to Rana and his wonderful " Family"

My husband and I stayed at Bidadari for 7 nights and truely enjoyed every minute. The villas are very spacious, furnished in the most beautiful traditional Balinese style and also have every modern convinience.Breakfast is served in your villa by the excellent staff which has been prepared by an excellent chef. The service is 10 out of 10 as is the staff. The surroundings are truely beautiful, about 10 minutes out of Ubud but in absolute privacy. A driver will take you into Ubud anytime you like and also collect you with a phone call. We both loved every minute of our stay and would definetly recommend this resort to others. Rana the manager cannot do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay at Badadari. We will return.

Room Tip: some villas have their own private pool. We do not use a pool so chose one without. The choice is yo...

My wife and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the globe, nothing compares to the overall experience of a stay at the Bidadari. I fear that we are forever spoiled and that nothing will ever measure up to our time there. We were at the Bidadari for ten perfect days with our nineteen-year-old son to visit my wife’s sister. The wonderful staff was so attentive to our needs and truly concerned with our comfort that we need only ask for something and it would appear.

Set in the most beautiful surroundings ten minutes outside of Ubud the Bidadari is truly a sanctuary for the soul. We had our massages in the spa and as we listened to the river and the birds it occurred to me that this was not the recording that plays when I get a massage in LA. This was the real river with real birds. I was in that slice of heaven that we all seek when trying to decompress. It worked.

Getting in an out of Ubud from our village location required only a request day or night. Rana the manager would hop in the car himself if the driver were not available. He was so committed to our care that he would do whatever it took to insure our comfort and he instilled this discipline in his staff.

Our villa was two floors of beautifully decorated living space with custom tile work in the bathroom and shower it was situated for great views and privacy. We truly had the sense that we were alone in paradise. The private pool was truly secluded and delicious after an afternoon walk in the rice paddies.

All the meals that we took in our villa were well prepared and delivered to us hot and tasty. Breakfast was delivered each day of our stay on time and in stages so each course was served as in a restaurant. We took particular delight in the pasta that had a bid of Indonesian spicy in the tomato sauce. My son liked the burgers; we are from the USA, what can I say.

It is so hard to make decisions about where to stay when visiting a foreign country. Looking at accommodations, reading reviews looking at maps. If you are making a trip to Bali pass on the frenetic, smog choked southern part of the island and head north to Ubud for a more genuine Balinese experience. I truly recommend you do not miss this gem in the jungle.

My husband and I stayed at a Bidadari villa recently. We had a fabulous time. Our villa occupied the top two floors of a three storey house. The top floor had a huge living area with a dining table, sofas, lounge chairs, open concept kitchen and tv, toilet and small office. The villa was tastefully designed and furnished in Balinese style. The bedroom on the second floor was huge with views to the jungle on three sides, and a huge bathroom with natural ventilation. The views were wonderful as the house was perched on the side of a river gorge, so all we saw was green hilly jungle without a soul in sight. All we heard was birdsong and the constant sound of a rushing river below. In the early morning, the bottom of the gorge would be lightly shrouded in mist. At night, it was pitch dark with the sound of crickets filling the fresh air. We occasionally saw some
fireflies too. In short, it was the perfect place for recharging tired city souls in need of a respite from the constant buzz and glaring lights of a concrete jungle.

Breakfast was served in the privacy of our villa course by course. There was also a complimentary afternoon tea served. The staff were lovely. They were very helpful and accommodating, and tried hard to please. We also enjoyed a massage at their spa, which is located near the bottom of the gorge down a long flight of steps. The ambience was special as the spa was in a thatched house nestled in a jungle clearing near the river. The GM, Mr Rana, deserves special mention. The lighting in the villa is romantic but not quite adequate for reading
at night. When I mentioned this to Mr Rana, he immediately had a reading lamp sent to our villa. They also provide a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Ubud town centre which allowed us to make short trips for shopping and dining. but it was hard to tear ourselves away from our piece of paradise, and we were always happy to return after a trip out. We had a perfect
vacation there, and hope to be back again!

Room Tip: Because of its location on the side of a river gorge, the villas are accessible only via flights of...

My husband and I stayed at Bidadari for 5 nights. Built on the side of a ravine, overlooking a river and jungle setting, Bidadari provided the perfect relaxing getaway. The sound of the symphony of jungle noises, running water and the mist rolling across the rice paddies made it diffiuclt to leave. We took advantage of the spa services (2 very good massages) - the location right on the river is magical. We wandered around the local area and walked into Ubud on one occassion (about an hour at a strolling pace). On other occasions the staff were only too happy to drive us in and pick us up from Ubud at anytime (about 10 mins). The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. The manager, Rana was particularly attentive and made us feel like VIPs. We also had a chat with Jackie, one of the owners and a cuddle with her gorgeous dog Chinta. Jackie is clearly passionate about what she is doing and the vision in certainly being achieved. We had a set Indonesian menu one evening which was very tasty and Breakfast each day was also lovely and well prepared. The staff could also make a decent cappuccino which is important to us! even complex instructions about our likes and dislikes were well understood and taken on board without confusion. Not in a negative sense, but some advice for prospective guests is that the setting would not be suitable for those who might struggle with a lot of stairs as the villa is built on an almost vertical escarpment (which is what makes it so unique and beautiful). We were located in Villa Pucuk (Villa 4) but all the villas looked lovely. We would most certainly return to Bidadari and would recommend it as a place for couples to unwind and relax.

i booked this hotel the night before on agoda and got a great rate on a villa. i had a small house to myself, with a kitchen, living room, beautiful view on the patio. it was amazing, i really didnt want to leave! the staff were unbelievable in their hospitality and friendliness. its set in a small village away from ubud, and honestly after seeing the tourist monstrosity that ubud has become, it was amazing to be staying in a local neighborhood, and experience balinese life firsthand. its why you go to bali, right? there are many incredible rice fields nearby you can walk through where it is just so beautiful and quiet. there are also some small trekking trails if you want to wander around jungle type areas, as well as little warungs where you can just drink cofee or whatever and watch village life go by. i cant recommend this place enough, it was absolutely incredible.

This was the gem of our honeymoon to Bali. On an island, where serenity and beauty are paramount, Bidadari goes above and beyond. I would recommend Bidadari hands down for any type of vacation - solo, friends, family, or romantic. Bidadari strives to be not only a private villa resort, but a retreat and they do this extremely well. The courteous and attentive staff are a blessing! We knew from the moment we arrived that we had found our "home" in Ubud. We were welcomed by several staff members lead by Maha - the incredible front office receptionist. We were escorted to our Villa and our breath was immediately taken away by the view and amenities. Each villa has its own private, separate entrance. It is the true essence of seclusion, but only 10 minutes from Central Ubud. Bidadri provides a shuttle service that became our private car during our stay. We stayed in Villa Jepun, a two-story suite featuring panoramic views of what feels like your own private valley - you can hear the river running deep below. The villa has an upstairs kitchen/dining/lounge with downstairs bedroom, outdoor bath & shower, & private infinity pool. The bedroom is spacious with a lovely 4 post bed and huge picture window doors looking out on the views. The design and choice of artwork is simply fabulous. At every angle, the eyes catch something new. There are only 5 villas on the property and we later learned that each one has a special and unique personality. It should be noted that the staff take their time when cleaning the rooms or during turn down service to make sure that special details are in place - beautiful fresh flowers, etc. The spa near the river was the highlight of relaxation. We had our best Balinese massage of the entire trip here. The manager, Rana was very attentive and concerned about our well-being. Its important to talk about the staff and service at Bidadari. The staff is not only professional, but genuine and caring. They take their time to hear your requests and tend to your needs and desires. They really seek to help you enjoy your stay by providing a soothing and relaxed environment. All you have to do is ask and they will do it exactly as you would like. The front desk staff set up all our activities in Ubud. They did not try to push any particular program, but would call to make reservations or arrange things as we requested. Maha set up wonderful traditional dance and music lessons for us at the ARMA museum in Ubud. We also took a beautiful trek with local guide, Ketut Nurjaya - he is well-known at Bidadari and in the village. He took us around the village and through the rice fields ending with a view of the Bidadari villas from across the valley. We grew very close with our driver, Cawa! He is a great driver and very personable. He naturally spoke about his family and the Balinese traditions. He also accompanied us to a festival where we were immersed in the beautiful and unique Balinese form of Hindu worship. The cuisine at Bidadari is top-notch, prepared fresh to order by the chef. Their specialty duck dish is to die for! Rana suggested this one evening and the staff served it pool side with a romantic flower and candlelit decorated pool - a truly memorable moment. The included breakfast was wonderful and is served at whatever time you request each morning. We can't say enough about the high level of luxury and excellence at this place. Finally, the Bidadari staff is very active in the village where the villa is located. Many of the staff live near by and they work to clean up the local area when needed. On our final day, more than 10 of the staff members were there to send us off and we felt like this was our extended family. We haven't mentioned each staff member by name, but they are all incredible and there are too many good memories to recount here. We miss them very much! You must go here and see for yourself.

Room Tip: They are all incredible!
