“Mother Nature and Rana”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

Bidadari is the most extraordinary place you can visit in Bali. Rana takes you under his wing as soon as you arrive, his hospitality is genuine and the staff are caring, attentive and always happy. You will never experience such a tranquil, relaxing break anywhere else. The Villas are breathtaking as is the view. The location is in a small village outside of Ubud but with Rana and the staff that is no problem as they will drive you to town when needed (which is only a 10 minute drive). If you stay in Ubud and don't get the pleasure of staying at Bidadari with Rana and his staff then your trip to Ubud would be incomplete. The Bali Massage is deep with reflexology included. It is different from other massages and fantastic. This place is like mother nature opened her wings and together with Rana she has wrapped her wings back around you and comforted you in pleasures and kindness you can't imagine. Thank you Rana and staff - this was a holiday that will remain in my memory forever.

We had such a great time here. The place is amazing! So peaceful and beautiful, we didn’t want to leave. As was mentioned before, it is a bit out of the main city, which we found perfect, as we wanted a quiet and private place.

We had villa Jepun and we loved it. It is spacious, secluded and beautifully designed and decorated. We enjoyed the great views and our personal swimming pool. The huge sofa upstairs is a very cozy place to read or relax. Bed is big and comfortable. Outside bath is huge and is set in a lush greenery.

Food was delicious. We tried a few types of breakfasts and they all were plentiful and tasty. Our in-villa dinner was also a great experience.

There was a little confusion at the reservation stage, but everything was sorted out quickly and in general service was very thorough and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff is really willing to go extra mile. We were going to have a wedding ceremony in Ubud, and I think they were almost as excited as we are, when they found out. We got lots of attention, congratulations and a personal gift from management.

Thanks Mr. Rana and everyone! We will definitely come back, if we ever visit Bali again!

Where to start? I suppose the best the place is the beginning. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like part of the family. All the staff were waiting to welcome us, we were introduced to each staff member and met with happy, friendly faces.

Our villa...well....just out of this world, we have been to Bali over 7 times and have NEVER stayed in a more beautiful place. The lower level of the villa (air conditioned) was our bedroom with a beautiful four post bed and the bathroom..oh my, the outdoor bathroom with fish ponds, fountains and waterfalls was just amazing. Heading upstairs to the second floor of our villa (it has a separate entrance so meals can be delivered to you without disturbing you) we walked into a huge open air room with a day bed, lounge, dining table and kitchenette, the views from up here truly amazing. Our courtyard was beautifully landscaped and private and the valley views are just breathtaking. Our private infinity pool was sensational, we used it morning and night. And photos just dont give it the credit it deserves, it truly must be seen for yourself.

Whenever we wanted to head into town we were provided with a private car anytime day or night, it was never a problem. Our breakfasts were served in the upper level of our villa and were presented beautifully...very yummy too. Rana would come and say hello every morning.

So to thank the team: Rana you are a fabulous host and we will definitely be back next year. Cewa thank you for driving us into Ubud everyday. Sudi thank you for delivering our breakfast everyday and thank you to the chef you presented our meals beautifully. Komack thank you for your smiling face and keeping the gardens sensational. Maha thank you for all your assistance. And to the team members we haven't mentioned by name, thank you, thank you, thank you. You all made us feel so welcomed and it felt like 'home away from home'.

When saying goodbye Rana ensured the entire team was present to say farewell.

The difference between staying here and a large hotel is the unique, personalised service provided, this is what makes Bidadari a true Bali experience that captures the pour essence of Ubud.

See you all in March 2013 Adrian and Nadene

Room Tip: Villa 1 has a really great view from upstairs, the pool is excellent. try the statue hot/cold outdoo...

I have traveled to Bali 3 times over 19 year period and I thoroughly enjoyed this stay. This time I brought my family and my 77 year old mother from Canada. Here it is very peaceful, except the mornings as the roaming roosters let you hear it but one gets over it soon enough. The new GM, Ravi, is a wonderful host, soft spoken and very keen to take care of his guests. Transportation was always available without charge, and staff were very courteous. Room/suites are spacious indeed. Only thin to mind is that there are stairs to negotiate getting to/from your room. Morning meals were generous and quite okay. The private pools are a great, our kids played all day and also enjoyed the forest sounds and finds. I recommend Bidadari without hesitation. -Jay

This is my second review for the Bidadari villas in Ubud .
I decided to go back there because of the scenery and tranquility . I was with my husband and wanted to share it with him .
Since I was there last , there was a change of management which is noticeable .
Mr Rana and his staff provided a fantastic service . Everything we asked for was provided above and beyond the call of duty .
The Villa we stayed in was very clean and split on 2 floors . There was a private pool . It was beautiful and the view spectacular . The room was cleaned twice a day , and breakfast served whenever you wanted in your room .
The villas are situated 7 mins drive from UBUD , and exactly the right location to stay . The staff will drop you down and collect you anytime you want which is brilliant .
We love Bali , and UBUD is a lovely place . We will definitely go back to the Bidadari .
Thank you Rana , John and staff for a memorable stay .

We stayed at the Bidadari because the hotel we originally booked with ( The Chapung Ubud) had overbooked and sent us to the Bidadri --we only found this out in the hotel transfer taxi on the way to the hotel so zero points to the Chapung
However the team at the Bidadari couldn't do enough for us and Mr Rani the Manager ( who is delightful and an absolute pleasure to deal with) looked after us and made our stay so enjoyable.
The resort is set on a rather steep set of steps down to the valley floor so it is not for the elderly or those who don't enjoy walking up and down stairs but the rooms are large, airy, well air conditioned and beautifully appointed
If I had one complaint about the rooms it is that the lounge and bedrooms are quite separate from each other and require you to go outside to get to each other and up more stairs
The bathroms are very well appointed and the linen is first class.
Our daughter enjoyed a cooking class with the resort chef and Mr Rani organised a bike tour for us which was entertaining and not to physically draining
The resort offers a driver service each hour into Ubud which was a fantastic service and the drivers were all very nice and spoke good English. Our daughter enjoyed practicing her Indonesian with them
All in all a lovely place with a great service orientated team

We spent a week at Bidadari and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The views are stunning and the rooms and grounds are thoughtfully and beautifully apportioned and decorated. Mr. Rana and staff went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests, a few times way beyond the normal call of duty. As part of our stay they provided us a tour of the local village and rice paddies, and it was one of the highlights of our stay in Bali. There were some minor hiccups with the electricity and pool, and the staff corrected it as soon as possible. Only issue is that we traveled with my mother who is not as steady on stairs as she used to be and, as the villas are built into the side of a ravine (hence the great views), there are many steps throughout the villa. Again, however, the staff were able to change our villa and move everything for us the next day.
