Sobek was legendary whitewater rafting operator. Tried twice with them in Ayung river. Started in a parking lot where you change your clothes and equip yourself with helmet, jacket etc then brought by a transport to departure point / the rafts. The route is pretty fun, expect to fall in the water sometimes but the river is ok. At the end of journey you can jump from the raft and swim, which I always did. The water is fresh and cool. At the end of trip shower and lunch are provided. But it is pretty steep ravine going to top. Be cautious if you are overweight, can be very tiring...

This was a great white water rafting experience. We had The Best guide (Jeans)! Sobek picked us up at our hotel on time and gave a quick ride back too. I felt really safe on the river with our guide.

My son has done whitewater rafting in Ayung river with his schoolgroup and he like to compare it with rafting in Telaga Waja river. After finish, his conclusion is this adventure is more challenging than the one in Ayung river. We did it last week and we had lot of water in the river. It was a good adventure, but definitely not for young children.

The staff were average, the boat was awful (falling apart),the lunch was disgusting & not as described, both my wife and I were violently ill for 24hrs after the lunch, my wife lost her toe nail when the seat collapsed in our boat, overall this was a day from hell for us

Just spent the day doing this rafting experience with my partner and three teenage girls. Fantastic experience from the moment we were picked up at our hotel. The driver was friendly and pointed out things on the way. It was a two hour drive from our hotel but once we got out of the urban areas it was interesting driving through villages down skinny roads, past rice paddies and temples. First stop is an affiliated coffee place where you get free samples but are urged to buy some Civet coffee, and are funnelled through their gift shop on the way out. We bought some chocolate. Then it was off to the river and an instruction on what to do. Safety is paramount and they go through all the instructions several times. Our eleven year old was nervous but they calmed her well. The river itself is fun, lots of ducking and weaving, and bouncing off walls and rocks, lots of water and spray. Some sections are rougher than others but by the time you get to half way you are pretty clued as to how it works. The half way stop is under a waterfall where a local boy sells cola and beer for high prices but by then you are thirsty so you drink! The second half is just as fun going over a 4m high dam wall! They end up after two hours down river at their restaurant overlooking rice paddies where you are offered a dry towel, yummy lunch and drinks. Oh and to buy the photos their staff took on the way down. Good pics and a good memory for $21 per CD. Then it's back in the cr for the trip back to the hotel. Overall a great day out, a bit of sightseeing, a bit of adrenaline and fun together for everyone. Well worth it! A tip is make sure you bring a change of clothes and a go pro or some similar camera would be worth it too!
