Description: A charming, cosy, Bohemian-style cafe that offers an eclectic menu of Balinese and international dishes served with great juices and coffee. Popular for Happy Hour and its well-priced cocktails. Night-times come alive with literary evenings and music. Baby sister of Casa Luna and the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.

Have to agree with the previous review - it _is_ hot and noisy, but somehow it works. Holds lots of events, especially booky and music, and the good mood is contagious. Reasonable prices.

You don't visit this side street joint for its food, which is cafe average. But it's hard to say why it is so popular. Brightly lit and hot inside, there is little done to make it less like a pizza oven. We went to hear a visiting musician (live music is the main feature apparently) but she gave up after a couple of numbers because there was something wrong with the set-up and her guitar was inaudible. It didn't help that most customers were talking loudly and obviously not there to listen. If you want to hang out with noisy westerners and ignore the entertainment - this is the place for you.

I had a wonderful introduction to Bar Luna: on my first night in Ubud, I stumbled upon it just before a poetry slam. The host welcomed us in, pulled up chairs for us at the front and we enjoyed lychee martinis while listening to budding literary talents share their poems and songs.

Bar Luna has a rich literary heritage and is defnitely a place for writers and arts lovers from all over the world to meet and mingle. It has tasty snacks and drinks (I recommend the happy hour from 5-8pm!) and is a really nice place to while away a couple of hours with a good book or company. We returned the next day for lunch and had delicious sandwiches and fresh fruit juices. Definitely plan to return during my next trip.

Great place. We had excellent cocktails during 'happy hour' prices were reasonable - i think around Rp.55,000 for two - $5.40 in Aussie dollars. We also had dinner here one night quiet late. Nothing exceptional but good quality and well priced. You could hang ouit here for quite a few hours and go home very happy.

This little bar is a real find especially between 5 - 8 pm every evening when cocktails are two for the price of one. The food is also delicious and reasonably priced.
