“Meditative moments”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

Went to Tibetan Bowl meditation and zoned right out. Floor a bit hard but the time zoomed by- definitely worth the experience. Surrounds are graceful and peaceful albeit somewhat western take on the mystic in layout. A definite Ubud experience!

“Good food & film night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

We went for the Monday night movie, which was really good fun. We paid 85,000Rp each (about £5.50) for an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious food. There was green salad, grilled tuna, watermelon, pasta, rice, tofu and tempe. The movie was after dinner (included in the price above) in a massive modern wooden yoga hall; it was projected onto a screen and we all laid on the floor on cushions and yoga mats, there were probably 30-40 people there so is was cozy with a nice atmosphere, there was also lots of free yummy popcorn. The film was 'Lost in La Mancha'... really good. Would definitely go for another movie night if we were back in Ubud.

“First time yoga barn devotee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

What an amazing experience, tranquil calmness and serenity. Yoga in the most magical of settings with a variety of teaching and styles of the highest calibre. We had a 10 session pass which was good value for money at around $7.50 a class. An amazing start to the day and great food at little K. If your looking for a spiritual exercise that is unique in Bali, then this is the place for you.

“what a fantastic place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Such a great place, an institution in Ubud.
Daily classes are fantastic, the retreats are great, little kafe offers great food and drinks. It's a must if you are in Ubud, even if you haven't tried yoga before.

“Great trying different styles of yoga”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

I attended 5 different classes during my 10-day stay in Ubud and enjoyed a different style each time. It was great to learn about different styles. I also attended a Tibetan bowl mediation session. The setting is gorgeous, but the noise from the nearby construction projects if quite annoying (I realize there isn't much the Yoga Barn can do about this). The instructors are clearly knowledgeable. My only complaint is that one instructor in particular (one of the Ying Yoga instructors) was not always patient with her students, which is not appreciated. I also had a treatment from the chiropractor (Adolf) which was great. His treatment was in the healing hut, which is a small hut adjacent to the Little K cafe. The healing hut has a small seating area attached to it and the bathrooms as well. As such, it's not the most private of spaces.

Hello MFB,

Our apologies regarding the construction next door. Unfortunately, a hotel is under development and we have no control over their project.

We are the ones who put up the wall between the two properties so that our student / guests would not have a view of their construction ... the lesser of two evils.

However, the good news is that their project is slated for completion by December, and we are finished with our new studio, out back behind the river ... so now have four functioning spaces in which to practice.

The surrounding land we own, and we will keep it as rice fields, open-air and beautiful views.

We would be honored to have you come back and experience it for yourself.

Namaste from The Yoga Barn !
