Stayed there for 4 nights in early June. Family of 4, we stayed in a Lumbung cottage. Everything that was supposed to work did, the staff were very helpful and the place was spotlessly clean.
There was a good variety for breakfast. We ate at the restaurant, the meals were done well.
The free shuttle bus was good, although it didn't run as often as would have been helpful, but it only cost RP 50,000 to get back from town by one of the local drivers.
The only thing that could be improved on, would be a holder to hold the hand held shower onto the wall to make showering easier.
One other thing to take into consideration if you are staying in a Lumbung Cottage is noise. Downstairs is much quieter than upstairs. If you are a light sleeper, the thatched walls don't cut much noise, and the local dogs seem to like to bark a lot at night (not the hotel's fault, just Bali.)
All in all, this is a great hotel and makes a great impression if you are looking for a beautiful spot to stay in Bali. Would stay again, for sure.

Room Tip: Upstairs in a Lumbung is not good for light sleepers, but downstairs and all other rooms would be be...

this was our first stop on trip around bali, we used their driver to pick us from airport 300 000rp very reasonable the staff very polite and courtious, kids loved the five pools we loved main and valley pool with infiniti feel, wifi was best neer resturant and room 118, food was sufficent and resonably priced , rooms were very clean and spacious with a definite bali feel the shower took a little adjusting but was swallowed in such a large bathroom the gardens very well maintained with gateways making you want to see whats around next corner, with nice quite areas to relax, some of the stairs are a little tricky if your knees play up you may need to choose diffrent accomodation there is plenty of good eating 2-300 metres towards ubud taxi to ubud 50 000rp standard price

Room Tip: room 117 and 118 next each other our children 13-15

The Beji was our second hotel of our Bali trip. We were looking forward to this place as we spent the previous days in Kuta and looking to relax. On arrival we were met by very friendly staff and a nice cold mocktail. They appeared very professional and after a short time, escorted us to our room. We mentioned we wanted a quiet room and were on our honeymoon. They actually honored our request and gave us a room further away from the rest. We were quite surprised to open the door and find an arrangement of flower pedals on the floor saying "happy honeymoon". I thought it was a very nice touch and completely unexpected. The room was very nice with a nice little reading area. It was clean, with the exception of ants and geckos which would pay us a vist quite often. It wasn't a huge problem but a slight annoyance when I made a coffee and two seconds later it was swarmed by small ants. The bed was a little hard for my liking and had problems sleeping on it. The view from the room was fantastic. Very tranquil and definately helped us to relax. It is much better viewed from the pool area though. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but having the same thing everyday was the downside. I do love bacon and eggs and most of the other things they had, but a little bit more diversity would have been nice. Overall, I would recommend this place on location and exceptional service alone. It's close to some great restaurants, 25 mins walk from Central Ubud, or you can use the free shuttle (it doesn't run very often but you just work around it). The staff are more than happy to help you arrange tours, spa treatments and anything else you'd like. They are very accomodating to your needs. Thanks Beji for the wonderful stay.

We have been here for our first four nights ever in Bali. Overall I think beji is very good. Staff excellent! View/landscaping are amazing. Our room size and quality is very good.

One problem if you are coming with family....noise. The family suites are near the road and it is quite noisy. The upstairs in particular is loud..which is where the main bedroom is. I hate to write this as we have loved our time here and the problem is something that cannot really be changed, but fair warning to any light sleeping families.

If my wife and I come back without the kids we would DEFINITELY stay here with a room overlooking the valley.

Just spent 2 lovely weeks in Beji & would highly recommend this hotel to those seeking peace & tranquility. Hotel is situated overlooking a valley - views to die for!!! Go for those rooms overlooking the valley, well worth the extra cost.
My only reservation is that this resort probably won't suit those people who struggle with steps, there are a few & quite steep. The hotel is located quite a distance from Ubud centre, approx 45 mins walk up a hill from Ubud. There is a shuttle bus that runs 3 times/day to & from Ubud. We hired a moped so getting about wasn't really an issue.
They do fog the resort to help control the insects but because of the location, it's worth noting that we saw the 2 biggest geckos ever- each over a foot long, outside our room at night. Don't forget to bring the insect repellent!!!
Staff are friendly & helpful. Wifi really only works well close to reception.
The bed/bathrooms are huge but simply furnished. More than adequate, lots of storage space. Great shower. Buffet breakfast is limited but OK given the size of the resort- small but intimate.
TV channels are limited but good if you just want to chill......
Good supermarket-"Bintang" , down the road from resort, great for stocking up beers & snacks. ATMs also located outside the supermarket.
Quite a number of good restaurants nearby, notably the Fly cafe was our favourite - regular spot for a number expats.

Room Tip: valley views if possible

The setting of this lovely hotel/resort on the side of a hill 10 mins from central Ubud is superb. The beautifully landscaped gardens, winding stone paths, and many swimming pools, set amongst the villas, combine to create a stunning ambience, which is enhanced even more by the many friendly and helpful staff. Our room (115) was very well presented, with an especially large bathroom which included a large tiled bath, the most comfortable I have ever used. Unfortunately the bath did not get used often because of the very poor water supply, the only thing I can find to criticise about Beji Ubud. Others might complain about the small TV screen but that really did not bother us as we weren't there to watch it. The distance from town may bother some, although the hotel does offer a free shuttle service to/from Ubud centre several times per day. IT should be noted that there are several very good restaurants, cafes and spas within easy walking distance of the hotel.
