“Still as fantastic as our first visit!”

Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we returned to Villa Agung Khalia looking forward to a week of luxe rest and relaxation. We were not disappointed!
Again we were met at the airport in Denpasar by a smiling Guru, who we recognised immediately from our previous visit. He had lovely cold bottles of water in the car for us, which were much appreciated as the warm weather was a bit of a shock coming from chilly Perth. As it was about lunch time, he stopped near Ubud so we could eat before arriving. Once at the villas we were shown to our suite and brought complimentary cold fruit juice, as well as a fruit basket and a giant bottle of drinking water- though the water there is pumped up from a deep well and safe to drink.
As it was just the two of us this time, we had the Lotus suite, a large bedroom with a small kitchenette area, ample clothes and other storage, and a nice big bathroom with bath and shower. A small sitting out area overlooking the private courtyard with a small pool had a table and chairs as well as a coffee table and armchairs. Bamboo blinds could be used to shade the verandah or keep out the rain, and there was even an electric outlet so we could move the fan outside when there wasn't a breeze.
We had our breakfasts in the restaurant at the end of the complex, chatting with the staff who were all familiar from our previous visit. We were pleased too that they remembered us, enquiring after our family members who had accompanied us on that visit. If we were up early, generally a smiling staff member brought freshly brewed coffee to enjoy on our verandah before getting our act together for breakfast. If we had preferred, breakfast would have been served to us on our verandah as well, but we liked looking out over the rice paddies and chatting with the staff in the restaurant.
Since we couldn't decide on a restaurant for our anniversary and didn't want to risk disappointment, we asked the chef Kadek to push the boat out and he certainly did. This would be the best meal we ate during this trip. We were only disappointed that we were too full to eat it all!
We also went on a couple of all day trips and our driver Made was happy to take us anywhere we wanted. It was fun to explore some of the roads less travelled. Any time we wanted to go somewhere a driver and car were available. Trips into Ubud and pickups from there were included in the tariff, and longer trips were charged at a reasonable rate.
Laundry was returned on the same day, all beautifully clean and folded ready to put away, and so inexpensive.
I can't say enough nice things about Villa Agung Khalia and their staff; we had a fantastic time and would be back in a heartbeat. We only regretted that we only had a week to stay there- a month would have been even better :-)

“Paradise to be relaxed within tranquil rice field.....”

The place is surrounded by rice field and have a fantastic view when you open the window from second floor of Villa . It is cooler than Denparsar area as it is in the mountain area. The water in swimming pool is extracted from deep well and very clear.
The staff service is good and helpful. They are always ready to help. I am quite satisfied with the staying experience, although the road is little bit bump and sometimes difficult to find if you are first time to be here.

“Beautiful villa accomadation”
Reviewed December 10, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Our stay at the honeymoon villa was the real stay that we where looking for in ubud.It had every aspect of the culture surrounding us, the rice fields and its cascading water. The smell of the early morning offerings placed around the villas and the peaceful and relaxed feel of the surrounds. We could have been in heaven if only. The villa was great with open sliding doors that had full view of the fields and a beautiful breeze that blew straight into our room. The giant size timber bed had a slide show of nature at its best. The bathroom was big and clean, the villa had all that we needed and more. Lets also talk about the great pool that we had all to ourselves it was crystal clear and so inviting with our sun lounges and umbrella it was hard to draw ourselves away from this little bit of paradise. We had lunch by the pool it was fantastic and breakfast in the morning was looked forward to. The staff that work at the villa were very friendly and caring. The next booking would be for there giant three bedroom villa these are very spacious for all the family and more. Thankyou for a fantastic stay Natalie and Ed

“Ideal place to relax and unwind”
Reviewed September 16, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I stayed at the Agung Khalia (villa 1) with my partner, his brother and sister-in-law in August - it was amazing. The service from beginning to end was impeccable. We were given a mobile phone on arrival to call for anything we wanted. From bringing more drinks to the villa, ordering dinner, a massage or a trip out.

My boyfriend and his brother went on a trip down a local volcano organised by Guru which they enjoyed a lot.

The villa itself was spotless and worth every penny, the bedrooms were comfortable, but the real jewel in the crown is the outside pool area and the lounge.

It's about a 10 minute car journey into Ubud town centre, which isn't an issue unless you want wild nights out. The villa is so peaceful (with the exception of the ducks in the surrounding paddy fields!) and really was the easiest place to relax in the world.

If travelling on your own you'd feel completely looked after and safe at the Agung Khalia, one of our group is planning when to come back!

“paradise”
Reviewed November 1, 2011 for a stay in October 2011

What can i say about Villa Aghung Khalia, its paradise. My friends and i after our research on TA booked Villa 1 .very easily online with Laura. From the moment we arrived we loved everything about it, although we had a bit of a wait at the airport to be picked up it was all explained and all was good.
We were welcomed with a cold drink, and from then on the staff could not do enough for us. It made such a difference to our stay. They would bring our breakfast by the pool every morning and ask about our plans for the day. Everything was arranged for us, excursions for the day and transport to and from any restaurant of our choice at night.
The rooms were all cleaned perfectly every morning and our washing done for a small charge. Our only regret was we only stayed for 7 days, wished we had booked for longer, but we all decided we will be back.

“Spacious villa in beautiful rice paddies.”
Reviewed August 23, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

We had a lovely stay at the villa. It is very spacious, and could easily accommodate seven people. The service was very good and the owners have thought about many details, such as providing a loaner laptop computer and a cell phone so that you can call the Villa for pick-ups in Ubud. The shuttle service is well manned and we never needed to wait to go into Ubud., although pick up in Ubud depends on traffic volume but did not cause us any difficulties. One thing that is somewhat annoying is that the doors are very heavy, and will loudly slam shut if not left propped open. A lovely place to go to after the busyness of Ubud.
