Nice enough, nice pool, I stayed in the cheapest room and it was clean, cheap, had it's own terrace... Breakfast was okay, not amazing, but okay.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are miles away from the main road!

We stayed for 6 nights partly because of inertia and my husband liked the place a lot for the pool. I didn't like the hotel much. The grounds and pool are attracitve in a generic Asia landscape way with some lovely Balinese figures. I liked that they put fresh flowers all around the doors and figures every morning.
Inside the rooms are plain and our bathroom, at least, not at all appealing. THe air con was noisy so we mostly stuck to using the fan. There was an odd smell which I finally came to understand was from a kind of mothball style insecticide. It improved when I moved them from the bathroom to the porch. The breakfasts were not very good and skimpy in the serving sizes. On a more positive note, a thermal pot of very hot water and some instant coffee and tea bags were placed on the individual porches everyday which was handy.
I didn't care for the location which is off Monkey Forest Road toward the south end. It is set back enough to be quiet but I don't care for Monk Forest Road much as it is busy and so commercialized. We did really enjoy the adjoining restaurant - also called Sagitarius. The food is very reasonable in price, very tasty and nicely presented. We ate there often because it was so good and reliable.
In sum, the hotel is pretty average and there are so many other places with more character and a real feel of being in Bali.

I agree with a previous review. Kadek Ka is a sweetheart. Gardener/cleaning person he is just lovely to talk to and joke with.

This was our 3rd visit to Sagitarius . The property is a little oasis in what is a busy area in Ubud . The rooms are well maintained and the gardens immaculate . The staff are excellent with the exception of one guy who is a bit shady . Cadekcar the gardener come cleaner is an absolute gem and so happy and friendly to the guests . The free interent is always good and fast . The breakfast is always simple ...sometimes a little too simple , an egg sandwich and juice . I think they could add a little more choice to their breakfast for what you pay . It is a nice setting where you have breakfast and a good spot to meet new guests and friends . The restaurant out the front of the hotel is very good ...good value tasty meals .

This hotel will not necessarily honor your booking. They may give away the room to the first person who walks in with cash in hand. Also, I have the experience that once you make a deposit, you will get nothing back no matter how far in advance you cancel or try to make a change. The place itself is OK, though there are many better, but the management is rather odd. I would not return.

Room Tip: The most expensive rooms are OK. The others are dreary.

Having stayed many times in the past and always enjoyed the place,I was so disappointed
This time. Old,grey sheets, room smelling of cigarettes and so disinterested: cutbacks on breakfast and staff meant for $33 it was poor value.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else for the same money.
