We spent a blissful 9 days at Villa di Abing with our family of three older teen girls. We were absolutely speechless when we arrived. It’s even better than their website shows. Attention to detail is excellent, from the bottles of fresh water in each bathroom for teeth cleaning to the organic toiletries.
We were picked up by Made Arya , the owners brother at the airport and an hour later when we arrived in Ubud, we were greeted by Ni Ketut and her gorgeous staff Pitu, Made, Desa and Gedeye with fresh juice, cold towels and local coconut pancakes. Throughout the week, these people made our stay especially great. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast every morning was either Western or Balinese – banana pancakes for us most mornings. Gedeye was there every night to let us in and keep an eye on the house. Ni Ketut was an amazing host, organising a cycling trip for us and presenting us with gifts when we departed.
We loved the proximity to Ubud centre, just a short walk down some local laneways to the hubbub of Ubud shopping and eating and when we’d had enough, the Villa was our sanctuary from heat and tourists. WiFi at the villa was perfect for facebook/skype loving teens.
The grounds are immaculate, the pool stunning and a Spa/Massage place has moved in right next door, just a few steps from the front gate! Perfect!
Thanks to Ni Ketut, we loved her house and would highly recommend it to people who don’t have an issue with steps, as the whole house is built on a steep block, and the beautiful Princess suite and the pool are down quite a steep flight.

Tasteful, spacious, relaxing; Villa di Abing is a perfect retreat if you need to recharge or are looking for a bit of privacy. The place was spic and span when we arrived, beautiful flowers in every room, colourful scatter cushions (satisfyingly plump!), and an ambiance that somehow just instantly relaxes. I felt so at ease and really appreciated the privacy of a self-contained villa - I spent an entire day alone at the Villa swimming, relaxing by the pool and reading on the balcony; after the staff had made me breakfast and tidied up a little, I didn't see another soul except for a brief visit from the food delivery man when I ordered my dinner! It was bliss!

Little touches such as soft lighting options, candles & incense (magically lit in the evening) and good quality toiletries really enhanced the experience.I could not resist trying out the massive bath with aromatic bath salts and garden outlook; I was in seventh heaven! The outdoor shower was great too - a massive showerhead and good water pressure.

Ketut, the manager, has welcoming yet discrete hospitality down to perfection, as well as a great eye for detail. Putu, Made & Gede looked after us really well, and were completely unobtrusive.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa di Abing. Great if you want a private retreat, but still want to have the option of going for a wander around Ubud. If you can't handle stairs though, this might not be the place for you.

Be sure to ask Ketut for the handful of restaurant menus so you can order your food in. OR if you want to buy a few bits and pieces to stock the kitchen, Bali Buddha just down the road has a little bakery and organic foods shop which looks small, but is really well stocked (don't miss the fridge at the back for salad/cheese/spreads/juices). ENJOY!

This place is special in so many ways, besides the fact I proposed to the love of my life. For a start the Villa's layout of rooms and design is perfect for a room swapping couple or small family, all rooms overlook a delightful pool which itself overlooks a jungle of bamboo and green native bush distinct to Ubud.
Every morning you are met with a cheerful and happy disposition from the maid/chef who whips up your favourable dish or dishes in no time, service can not be faulted. The two main rooms are smart, clean and impressionable, the third is a bit tricky up a wooden ladder but great for the kids. Location wise it is only perhaps 10 min's walk to various shops and restaurants, Kafe being our favourable in Ubud.
The owner Ni Ketut is equally impressionable and will do her up most to make your stay an unforgettable experience, I do apologise for the lateness of our review.
Even the security man is switched on opening gates as you arrive home, alerted by the neighbours dog and considerate to your privacy needs.
This is a hidden gem that will serve many couples and families days of utter joy.
Have the banana pancakes they will carb load your day and set the tone for the villa - "Delightful"

We stayed for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed the Villa. It exceeded all expectations and the pictures do not do it justice. As a family of 6 adults and one 3 year old it suited us perfectly althought it would be difficult for younger children (ie crawlers). Ketut, Made and Putu were friendly, helpful and no-obtrusive - Balinese people are just wonderful.
The Villa is conveniently located for walking as well as hiring of bikes/cars . The pool was a winner, especially with a 3 year old and many happy family times were spent around and in the pool.
Rooms are large, beautifully done and well cleaned and the sound s of chooks crowing and distant gamelon from temples made the experience a positive one.
Definitely recommend and would go back.

just returned from bali after a 10 day holiday where we stayed at villa de abing.i went there with my partner her parents, sister partner and daughter.i had a trully amazing time whilst over there.we were picked up from the airport and taken to the villa.when i arrived i was amazed as to where i was to be staying for the next 10 days.the rooms there were very large and just breathtaking.every day our beds were made, with fresh flowers put around the room.there was a amzing pool there wich we swam in daily and was very clean and modern. we were cooked breakfast every morning with a great menu to choose from.myself being a chef i thought that the food was to the highest of standards.the staff there were just there for you 24/7 with gete whom was the villas manager, security and everything you could possibly need from a staff member.he would always be there to greet you when returning back to the villa.he was so helpfull in all situations from where to shop, eat and also organised us scooters to ride on,wich in bali is a must to have.the room we had was fantastic with great views and good air conditioning.it had plenty of room for luggage and well just a cool drink if need be.we were only a stones throw from shops, markets and restraunts.the markets wich were just up the road had everything you could want and filled my suit case with lots of goodies.the food around the area was great with so much variety to choose from.we had a 3 yr old with us and she had a wonderfull time there also and had no troubles or dificultys with the villa at all,and seemed to have a smile on her face when ever she looked at me.
to sum it all up i would highly recomend staying at the villa whilst in ubud if you want to be treated like a king or queen, for thats the way they treat you there.

We stayed for one week at Villa Di Abing but wished we'd stayed for our 2 week trip. We travelled with 2 small children (21/2 and 11 months) and couldn't have been happier with the villa. It is truly delightful and beautifully presented - nothing dodgy or faded.. Superb attention to detail and it totally delivers what it promises. We found the location very convenient and enjoyed being able to stroll into Ubud (less than 10 mins to Monkey Forest Rd) along laneways - we could even take the stroller unlike Seminyak which was too crazy. Ketut, the owner, greeted us and offered her local knowledge (she speaks great english) and organised everything for us. She is incredibly honest and presents an itemised account at the end just as in a hotel. Her staff are amazing, Made Putu and Gede attended to our ery need, our children loved them and we found them so helpful but not intrusive. The only issue with small kids is that it's not particularly baby friendly - you do have to keep an eye on them. Luckily the staff are wonderful with kids and only too happy to lend a hand, so we didn't find this a huge problem. We'll definitely be back.

Incredible place to stay. We are late 20's with two toddlers. While not especially safe for kids, neither is much of Bali. The managment and staff were absolutely lovely. Grounds are well cared for, breakfast is delicious. We stayed at three places in Ubud, this is our favorite. Many places in Bali give up western amenities and expectations in favor of a 'realistic' Balinese experience, Villa Di Abing gives both.

Pros:
Well cared for and clean
Accomodating staff
Beautiful Balinese Architecture and site planning
Good balance of environmental awareness and luxury
Has three full suites (would be great for large family or several couples)
Location (seems a little out of the way at first, but many places are walkable, and there are very few other private villa's this close to things in Ubud)
Private outdoor showers...very cool experience.
Great balance of full service being available, but you can make it up as you go as well. (you can live there, cook for yourself, or affordably have them make arrangements.)
Little Things: Nice toiletries (shampoo and such) Ipod docks, well trained staff.

Cons:
With children, you have to be pretty careful, there are lots of hazards.
Staff are lovely, but do not have strong english, caused some confusion, but no real problems for us. (If something is important, ask the manager, it will be taken care of.)
