What a brilliant place! We called in without a reservation, planning just to have a couple of drinks. The cocktails were inventive and delicious - the Friends with Benefits which is topped with a blow-torched, caramelised passion fruit and served with a shot glass of prosecco was a great mix of texture and flavours - and we loved sitting at the bar and watching the staff in action. We couldn't initially get a table but had the option of eating at the bar, which other people were doing and which helped create a really convivial buzz in what is a really well-planned space. As one booking didn't turn up, we were offered a table - but as it's a small bar/restaurant it's probably wise to book in advance. The food was excellent: Ketut's fried chicken was a delicious and substantial starter; the duck red curry and beef redang were richly flavoursome; the pork belly was perfectly done and the side dishes were excellent. Everything was carefully presented and the service was efficient and friendly. Ketut, the man in charge, is an urbane, experienced and very cool host, who makes customers feel valued and clearly sets high standards for his staff.
