Terazo was perfectly located for us during our stay in Ubud as it was within walking distance from our villa, Villa San. On our first visit, 2 of us ordered the chef speciality of the hot and very spicy mud crab, a huge whole mud crab with sweet chilli sauce. Our meals came with the necessary finger bowls, hand towels and various implements to crack open the juicy claws and legs. It was a very messy experience but totally delicious. Around the table my friends were equally satisfied by their choices from the menu that catered for a variety of tastes. While it was not really the Indonesian culinary experience we may have been looking for, it was by far the best tasting dining we had during our stay. After some very disappointing eating in the main streets during our 7 night stay, including The Lotus Cafe (every dish tasteless!), we went back to Terazo on our last night. The open environment, subtle lighting, the friendly staff and warm atmosphere of this restaurant were well worth paying a little more rupiah for.
