I will never support unethical experiences. The second we saw the chained elephants, we demanded a refund and left immediately. It is absolutely unacceptable to make a profit from chaining wild animals.

Also, for those of you who don't really care about animals, the rooms were nothing special and the authenticity is not there. Don't waste your money.

Very exciting seeing the Elephants as we woke up! Very spacious, clean well appointed room with large bathroom and excellent air conditioning which was most needed!
Lots of fun to interact with the Elephants under the guidance of their handlers. Beautiful paradise resort if you love elephants!

Not all of the rooms have a view. The photos on the website don't show that those elephants are chained there. They are only there at the end of the day when they aren't working. The chains are quite short. There is a baby and mom in a pen but 2 men are with them and they don't let them go away from the corner of the fence where tourists can take close photos. There is a pond and shower in their enclosure but every time they move in that direction the men chase them back to the corner.
Each activity costs around $100 USD.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
$30 USD return cab ride from Ubud.

Had an amazing experience at Masons, was a bit skeptic after reading some of the views but was pleasantly surprised. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming we received a free upgrade and the room was stunning and very clean. The elephant park itself was very well maintained and the elephants looked very well cared for and loved. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Bali thanks Masons ☺️

This was our second visit to Mason and we enjoyed it every bit as much as last year (if not more).

Friendly staff, great food, absolutely beautiful and well-maintained grounds. What more can I say? Oh yes..... the ELEPHANTS!

We fed the elephants by hand, petted and cuddled them, went on a ride through the grounds and also got to gently pat and cuddle the new baby elephant (who was very curious and affectionate of his own volition). What an experience.....

Let me say that we are very discerning about which animal facilities / zoo's / parks we patronise (and yes, we did pass on a few animal-oriented experiences in Bali - based on some reviews we'd read beforehand). But let me say these elephants are very well loved and cared for. Most are rescue elephants and are experiencing a new life which is the polar opposite of the circumstances from which they've come. I think people need to acknowledge that - even if you're personally against keeping animals in captivity and allowing them to be ridden and/or petted. It shines through that these beautiful creatures just love their lives and relish the attention, food and care they receive from the public and the staff at the Lodge.

We can't wait to visit again next year.
