This place is absolutely fantastic. If you are an animal lover, the chance to touch and play with elephants is magical. 30 elephants and 3 babies. You can wash them, ride them feed them and just soak them up. The baby elephants wrap their trunks around you arm and play tug a war. The hotel is stunning, the food incredible, service so friendly. We did a great package with transfers, parkview room, breakfast and dinner. It also included a day and night safari. Imagine riding a gentle giant thru the misty mountain on a romantically lit track. Then having dinner in the palm grove, candlelit tables set with white linen , the noises of the elephants all around you WOW! The 5 course meal absolutely beautiful. I cannot recomend this place hghly enough

We stayed one night at the Elephant Safari Park and Lodge and loved it. We purchased the accommodation on the internet and drove ourselves to Taro which saved us quite a few dollars. Included in the cost of the room was a day or night time safari, washing the elephants in the morning and a night time elephant ride from our room to dinner. Because an elephant picks you up to take you to dinner, we chose the day time safari which takes about 35 minutes. The night time safari is about 25 minutes. Dinner was an additional cost but pretty reasonably priced.
The park is very accommodating in allowing you loads of time to wash, feed and play with the elephants. There are plenty of photo opportunities too - especially with the 3 baby elephants.
Highly recommended by us but if you can - stay at least one night as you get more elephant time.

For everyone who has always waited for a chance to get REAL close to the gentle giants!
Recommendable for all ages. Very friendly staff, especially the elephant trainers.
Stay at the lodge, because a simple park visit will not give you the privilege to bathe and scrub the elephants!

Not cheap though and a bit tucked away (another 35 minutes from Ubud), but definetly worth it.

My daughter Holly and I stayed overnight at the lovely Elephant Safari Lodge in March 2010.

The extra special attention to my 5 year old daughter was beyond any of my expectations and I am now passing on our delightful experiences to all our family and friends.

Our room and its location to the restaurants and pool area - service of all staff and clean/pretty park surroundings in particular made for an extremely comfortable stay. But it was the magnificent elephants, the lovely four course dinner and being picked up by an elephant and then taken on a night safari that leaves us with fond memories of our great time in Bali.

I have to say, meeting the founder Nigel who was wandering around just before we checked out a delightful experience. :)

We would like to make special mention of the gentleman on the front desk whom greeted us and showed us to our room. His customer service was above and beyond what I've experienced anywhere else in Bali or at other resorts around the World for that matter.

Together with my husband and two boys (3 and 5 years old) we travelled around Bali during christmas and new year in 2009. One stop was the Elephant Safari Park Lodge. This is a place that I'll always remember with a warmth around my heart.

Arriving at the hotel the entrance and reception I got a bit disappointed. The staff was very friendly but the "interior" did not look that welcoming. But once entering the park and hotel area, and especially the room - that was something else. We'd chosen a room with park view. The room was very spacious, modern, clean, comfortable beds (and the extra bed for my son was already made and there where four towels - which has never happened before during all our trips) and best of all - a wonderful view over the park. We had the elephant resting places right in front of us.

The staff treated us like royalties and once we picked up the phone for an elephant ride, they where there with in 5 minutes, even if we just wanted to go the restaurant.

The restaurant served very good food and they did everything to help us with good food for our son with celiac disease. The chef even made him pancakes of the gluten free flour I gave him. In the evening all the guests were picked up by an elephant and brought to the restaurant where they had beautifully set the tables outside. And we could choose in what order we wanted to eat, see the night show or go on the night safari. The breakfast buffet' could have had more healthy choices, they mainly had fried food in addition to the eggs, juices and cereals.

The ESPL has a small but nice pool with a shallow end for the youngest. The spa looks beautiful but unfortunately the massage was quite bad. The hotel also provides babysitters for a small fee.

The very best part with staying at the ESPL was the interaction with the magnificent animals. It blew us away to be so close to these large animals, to feel their warmth and kindness. We got to feed them, pat them, ride them and wash them. When our son asked if he could wash a baby elephant since he was a bit scared for the big one, they brought him a smaller one, just like that. Knowing that all of adult animals have been rescued by the owner and his team makes it even better.

The ESPL is on the expensive side, but for us definitely worth the money. It is an experience one of it's kind and I had tears in my eyes leaving the animals and the staff (including all the elephant handlers we met).

The lodge is located within the Elephant Safari Park itself. Our garden view room was upgraded to the Park view which allowed us have an awesome view of these gentle and intelligent mammals the whole time. The park where these mammals live, is a well manicured botanical garden itself. This place is definitely a "Must See" if you were to visit Bali.

The service there was very personalized and tip-top.
