We came to the elephant safari park during our stay in Ubud. The park was beautiful, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The elephants were truly amazing. I loved riding through the jungle on the back of our elephant Melanie. Our guide gave us a lot of insight into the elephant park and Balinese culture. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to be so close to the elephants, it was like no other place I have ever been. I loved watching the talent show where they painted, played basketball, soccer, etc., it was all pretty incredible. The safari ticket also included a wonderful buffet lunch overlooking the elephant park. I could have stayed there all day just watching the elephants, it was one of my favorite parts of our trip and a definite must see if you are anywhere near Ubud!

I am so glad a friend at home recommended we book a night at the elephant park lodge rather than just do the day trip! It was so much more of an experience ! We left our villa in canggu to spend the night - arrived at 3 and were shown to our park suite . Having come from our villa we were expecting more of the same - but no, this room is world class standard not just good Bali standard . Feather pillows , king size comfy bed , immaculate marble and glass bathroom with grohe tap ware . But best of all our balcony opened onto the park where the elephants were munching on their dinner just feet away ! It was amazing. An elephant collected us from our villa for dinner and elePhant talent show. The dinner , we opted for the buffet, was ok better than most but nothing amazing. Next morning being lodge guests we were invited to help wash the elephants - It is amazing being up that close and rubbing the sitting elephant down with a broom and a hose .After washing the elphants lodge guests can swim with the elephants in their pool ! Most of us braved this and it was so worth the experience - who can say they've ridden an elephant bareback into a watering hole ??
Having been in Bali a number of times what struck us most about this hotel was its world class professionalism in its construction, cleanliness and maintenance. All around are beautiful gardens , amazing koi ponds with huge fish and happy staff and seemingly well cared for happy elephants .
All in all, if you are going to go - try and arrange a stay - you get so much more out of it for the extra you pay .

Room Tip: There are rooms where the elephant can't collect you for the dinner chauffeur service - which are the cheapest. We were upgraded from garden view to park view - luckily !! Because it's so great to be able to sit on your balcony and watch the elephants - mind you, you do hear them at night , but that's part of the fun.

We spent a couple of nights at the Elephant Safari Park and, whilst it was kinda cool and unique, ended up walking away a little underwhelmed.

Given the cost of entry just for a day, staying overnight is pretty economical. One or two days is certainly enough. Kids will love it in a limited dose. Bear in mind it is a long way from anything (Ubud is 30-40 minutes away), so you are very isolated there - it's the elephants and nothing else (although, I guess that's the reason you go, right?)

The rooms was fine, the food was good and the service was ok. Seeing the elephants right up close was definitely cool....but I guess none of it really had the jaw-dropping 'wow' factor that we were expecting.

Two days was definitely enough. You'll do the elephant ride a couple of times (our 18 month old daughter adored that, but once or twice was enough for her), the 'swimming' was unique (not for kids), as was washing the elephants (for big and little kids!). The animals are clearly very well looked after, but I suppose with a name like 'Safari' park we had visions of a much larger space, and something perhaps a little more wild. The conservation mission of the park seemed lost in the use of the elephants to essentially give constant rides to tourists. I understand that raising money is vital in order to run such a comprehensive facility, but any sense of 'wild' seemed a little lost.

Respect to the owners for setting up a valuable establishment. It was good to visit and see but I don't think we'll be back.

We went for two nights with our 7 yr old daughter. We will never forget it this is surely one of the great animal experiences on the planet. I was concerned that such a place could not combine a quality hotel and a decent safari feel. But my hat comes off the Mr Nigel Mason and his wife who rescued these elephants and brought them 3,000 by truck. What makes the experience so special is there are only 25 rooms so there are almost no other people around and no stress of lines. We bathed, rode, fed, stroked and got squirted with water by these amazing animals. There were three babies there and a pregnant mare due next June 2013. What was also wonderful was the buffet dinner. We normally run a mile when we hear buffet especially after some horrendous Club Med disasters, but this was amazing. Each night we had two vegetarian stock vegegetable soups. And a selection of fish. As we dont at meats the beds were so comfortable and the towels nice and big a fluffy and we each had a pretty good spa treatment ( hot stone 90 mim massage). My morning expresso coffee is VERY important to me and they had two machines here and served a fantastic double expresso. our daughter brought some of her old soft toys to give to local children we gave it to a pregnant girls who served us each day and a small tip, she nearly started crying. Please consider tipping the staff just a bit they have so little and are so grateful. I can't wait to get back to the EPSL the only downside is you need to allow 2 hours form the airport is you arrive when we did at 3 pm? Need to add tow important facts Elephant poo does not smell, and this park was mozzie free! Our child is a magnet and we had no problems and were so happy as it usually ruins the holiday

Room Tip: Spent the money and get the park view waking up and seeing those majestic elephants eating just underneath you is like no other hotel view you will even have

Stayed in garden view room - park view ones are better.
This place offers a unique experience for guests the elephant "chauffeur" picks you up from your balcony, on a twilight ride through the park to the restaurant by the lake where the food is outstanding.

The elephants are adorable and really well looked after - you can bath them, swim with them and feed them. Even the spa is in the park so you can watch the elephants from your jacuzzi

The rooms are elephant themed even the bed has elephant feet and the towels are folded into elephants. Breakfast is very good too.

The hotel also runs white water rafting trips via Bali adventure tours - I can definitely recommend the white water rafting and cycle tours
