“All kinds of natural entertainment places.”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Indonesia is truly famous for being bestowed with all kinds of natural entertainment places. I went there in last summer to have a honeymoon trip. I’m an Asian and therefore had to do a lot of research for selecting a country. After selecting Indonesia, the search then boiled down to selecting the best city/island. For Asians the set of problems not ends here and we need to calculate the expected costs to ascertain whether they are within our budget or not. We stayed at the villas for nearly a fortnight. The place is truly amazing I need to think for hours to describe its beauty. Moreover, the rent of accommodation was quite nominal. It is a piece of advice that whenever you have a visit there please take an option of online booking. This saves a lot of costs. Further, do state in the inquiry for quotation that the purpose of the visit would be considered in honey moon packages so as to get a further slice of discount.

This is my first review I've written in the last couple of years but its well deserved. I traveled to Ubud and Villa Pantulan at the end of September with a group of 6 adults and 3 kids (5,5,6). This was our 4th trip to Bali, and we've stayed at quite a few 5* properties including The Intercontinental Jimbaran, Westin Nusa Dua, Oberoi in Seminyak, as well as a couple of amazing villas. Although all of those places were amazing and I thought it couldn't get better, Villa Pantulan exceeded everything. Whoever it was that wrote the one negative review on this site, I'd love to meet them and figure out what they are talking about. We've lived in Asia or 8 years, have traveled all over the place, and have never stayed anywhere as comfortable, elegant, and relaxing as this place.

The Villa: Its huge. When you walk in it looks like a small boutique hotel. There is a very long, nice pool that runs the length of the property, as well as several huge ponds throughout the grounds. There are 4 or 5 very comfortable seating areas throughout the grounds, a media room with a small TV, comfortable cushions on the ground and a large assortment of movies. The villas has its own massage pavilion that has 2 separate massage tables and rooms, built over flowing water and looking out at the beautiful rice paddies. The dining area is open air and includes a table that could seat 25 people or so. There are 5 different bedrooms spread out over 3 separate buildings. Only 2 of the 5 bedrooms have A/C but you won't need it as there are fans, and Ubud is cool in the evenings. 3 bedrooms have their own outdoor bathroom, and 2 of the other bedrooms share a very large bathroom (the nicest of the bathrooms). I could go on and on, but trust me, the grounds and the property are 5* plus.

Location: The Villa looks out over the beautiful rice paddies, as do most of the Villas in Ubud. The Villa is about a 10 min drive (maybe 2k) to the center of Ubud. A great driver, Peel, is available to take you to town whenever you need to go, and he was definitely a highlight of the service we received. We stayed previously at Villa Kajane in the middle of Ubud central. While there are extremely nice, you definitely pay the price to stay in the middle of Ubud. With Pantulan, you get much more for your money. Its pretty easy getting in and out of town with Peel driving, but the Villa is so nice you'll find yourself not wanting to leave that often.

Food:
There is a kitchen and a staff that serve breakfast, and you can order lunch and dinner. Breakfast consists of pancake or eggs, fresh fruit and pastries as well as great fresh juice and coffee. We ate dinner every night in the villa, and the menu has a great variety and everything was extremely good. With the great comfort of the villa, the views, and the ease of being served dinner in our own villa, we never went out to dinner (although Ubud has some amazing restaurants).

Service:
Awesome. Everyone was fantastic. The house manager is Daus, and he does whatevery you need to make your stay comfortable. The staff are available for anything you need, including making great cocktails, bringing you coffee and tea. Daus the house manager was always available. The girls that serve dinner and breakfast were great and my kids loved them, and Dolar makes a great mojito. They have a cocktail menu that is available throughout the day. Its reasonably priced food and drinks.

Trust me on this one. You'll love it and it will be one of the great travel highlights you'll ever have.

we had a evry good time during a full week with our 3 kids.
service level is very good except wines that you better purchase from downtown stores.
Villa Pantulan is 10 minutes by car from downtown Ubud with a drop off service whenever you want.
Ideal place to organize 2 or 3 1 day tours up north Bali around volcanoes, lakes, rice terrace and marvellous countryside.
Pantulan villa is set up in the middle of rice fields and farm so people living in town chicken is going to wake you up early but very good bed will allow you to sleep again very quickly.

thank to PANTULAN people (Pil, Wayan, etc..)
best regards and take care

This villa has to be one of the best in Bali. The property is beautifully maintained, and each room is more gorgeous than the next! Around the property are nooks and crannies with waterfalls, ponds and sculptures. The staff are exceptional and nothing was too much trouble to them. Do try the cooking class if you get the chance. its lots of fun, and very informative.Best of all, you get to eat the great meal afterwards!!When we checked in, we didn't want to leave that day, and just enjoyed ourselves by the pool, had amazing massages, and an excellent dinner that evening. The breakfasts are really great, with a marvellous choice each day.
If you want a really luxurious, relaxing holiday, without breaking the bank, then Villa Pantulan is definitely the place to stay. Can't wait for a return trip!! thank you to Daus and all the great staff for making it a holiday/reunion to remember.

Room Tip: As in earlier reviews, there are only 2 bedrooms with air con. However, this isn't a problem as...

Villa Pantulan is a beautiful, luxurious natural and nurturing sanctuary where one feels part of nature as the property and its various levels open onto the natural surroundings of landscaped gardens, a pool, garden and reflecting pools, waterfalls, sculptures and glorious palm and coconut trees with sounds of flowing water and myriad birds. The staff are welcoming and delightful and they care about their guests. The variation and presentation of Balinese breakfasts, lunches and dinners is beautiful. I came to Bali to attend an executive retreat at Villa Pantulan. Jacqueline Wales, Villa Pantulan's owner and world renowned executive mentor directed the retreat with six executive and exemplary women. Jacqueline Wales led an inspiring and life changing retreat in a sanctuary of beauty and nature.

This stunning, intimate villa is ideally located near the main attractions/shopping of Ubud, but behind its gates feels miles away from any kind of hustle and bustle. Upon arrival, you feel the warm embrace of the spirit and beauty that defines Bali. You’re surrounded by the sounds of nature and unspoiled views of rice paddies. The guest rooms are spacious and well appointed – wonderfully comfortable beds; outdoor showers landscaped with orchids and greenery; and unique gardens and meditation areas that beg you to sit, breathe, relax and enjoy. The knowledgeable and thoughtful staff is top-notch; they can take care of any request (e.g., cultural activities, spa services, etc.) and take the time to remember your favorite juice and how you like your eggs. The food at Villa Pantalun is hands down the BEST food I consumed while in Bali, including the many fine dining restaurants of Seminyak. This is hospitality at its finest and the most amazing vacation or corporate retreat spot you could wish for.
