I joined the cycling tour with my mother when she visited us in Bali in December. We both love to cycle and it sounded like a perfect way to discover more of Bali and see everything from another angle than just the car or scooter. It was certainly what we had hoped for and better. Nothing but compliments to mr. Bagi and his crew from my mother and me!

They do it in a wonderful way, you get picked up at your home in a comfy car and a nice driver. After an hour drive we had a nice breakfast and coffee up at the foot of the mountains with a great view over rice fields. Then we drove back a bit to were we picked up our bicycles. They had more than enough cycles and you could choose the best one for you. We were a group of 12 this day and we had 6 guides/helpers that cycled with us, all young, enthusiastic guys with lots of knowledge about culture and surroundings. It felt really authentic and real and they took us to places that were not overloaded with tourists and we didn't meet any tourist shops on the way at all. We had the medium hard route and it was perfect, there was also 10 year old boy in the group and we all cycled without any problems. The boys also take so good care of us, so you had to feel safe.

The final at mr. Bagi's house with the fabulous Balinese lunch made by his wife was making it complete. It tasted nice, we had a chance to talk a bit more with the boys, and to mr. Bagi himself. We learned a lot this day and I recommend this for every person visiting Bali! It is well worth the price :-)

This well-run tour blends very legitimate cultural education (you're invited into a local families compound to see how they live), information on religious beliefs and local farming methods with a lovely ride through very picturesque countryside.

There are many staff to make sure people are safe on the roads but also to chat with you along the way and share their own experiences. The tour ends with lunch prepared by the wives of the tour guides at the home of the tour owner.

We went on the more "extreme" tour with some uphill (but after stuffing yourself on holiday it's nice to get a little exercise) and there was the option to sit out any stretch in the bus. 90% of the tour is on quiet backroads and they were very aware of our safety on a small stretch of main road. On our tour there were families, singles and couples. People aged from 7 to their late 60s. The kids seemed to love it.

The guides really make this special, they're knowledgeable, well spoken and funny. A great way to spend a day in Bali.

Very informative, and grueling but extremely satisfying. For a non cyclist and absolutely unfit I found the exercise very welcome especially after all the food!

We were given a medium terrain to ride as our group consisted of younger people including a baby who was strapped to the baby seat of a bicycle! Older groups were given the lower level terrain and the more atheletic ones can choose a super level terrain although u have to request for it.

Our guide was very young, polite and free with information. We soaked up everything he told us about customs and culture of the village. Everywhere we rode friendly locals would wave and shout greetings.

After 25km of riding, we were treated to a yummy lunch and rest for my aching thighs!

Will definitely recomnend this tour!

Thank you to Mr Bagi and crew (especially the very handsome Gede Sudi!) for an amazing bike tour of the real Bali. We saw and learnt so much about the way Balinese live and the culture of these beautiful sprititual people. Sensational service and attention to detail from the spot on time pickup to the amazing lunch at Mr Bagi's home as a finale. Great to see and support a local entrepeneaur who actually knows what tourists want to do and see, and delivers the experience with perfection. Take some time to talk to the guides - they have great stories to tell and you'll come away feeling like youve made some new friends. We did the intermediate ride which was achievable for an average fittness level & fairly full on in parts especially in the heat - but hey, we all probably need to work off a few Bintangs!

After many visits to Ubud I finally did an activity that further deepened my awareness of the beauty of the culture and environment of Bali. Sudi picked me up promptly at 7.30am from Ubud to join one other person on the day. They had plenty of water and provided vegetarian meals for me. Sudi took us through a Kampong (living compound) patiently answering our questions regarding the layout, hierarchy of work duties, animal and plant uses. He generously told me everything he could and I certainly learnt many new things. Because Sudi determined we were interested and fit he personalised the route and it became more challenging, thanks alot Brian from Singapore!
The exercise did me good. Lunch was provided at Bagi the boss's home, it was delicious, fresh and plenty and the staff were gracious from the beginning to the end of the tour. The trails did not pass any tourist shops between 2/3 occasions we came out to busy roads to cross, staff with safety fluoro vests stopped traffic and we resumed into quiet rural trails. Fabulous!
